I had been working on a much sadder painting of hobbes in a cardboard box in an attic surrounded by photos of Calvin having grown into his teens, graduating, adulthood, etc along with a tagline that would have read something like "I miss you so much". I just wanted the strip to go on forever.

It was so fucking sad I couldn't actually finish it, and that was like two computers ago so it's been lost to the digital gods now. These are much more happy and better.

Calvin and Hobbes should be done in an animated film of some kind. Even animated shorts of various strips and story lines would be fine by me. It is just a strip that, in my opinion, is worthy of recognition.

Dean - We were crossing our fingers that it could stand alone and still appeal to some non-C&H fans. So it's great to read that. But since you dug it, you should probably check out some of the strips. Stuff is hilarious.

Harbin - After the failure of A Very Calvin and Hobbes Boxing Day, we're on a C&H hiatus.

I've got to be honest... I'd heard of, but had no idea about Calvin & Hobbes.. But this short really blew me away. It is just perfect.

I'd love to see more done in different settings... desert island beach... the floor of a kiddies bedroom made up of lego or messed up toys... the surface of the moon.

Just a real fun concept.

The real question is, will this bring any influx to the Down In Front community and listeners to the actual movie commentary podcast itself (or the intermission?)

The cynical side of me says no, because wonderful as this C&H thing is, it's too tangential to the core thing being done at Down In Front to have fans coming in based of that becoming fans of the show.

Now, new visitors, go ahead and prove me wrong. Down In Front is a fantastic podcast if you are even a little bit into movies.
