My response to Avatar: Meh. It wasn't great, but it was hardly a bad movie. Sure, it's unoriginal, so what? That doesn't immediately make it a bad movie. Sure, it's got amazing visuals, that doesn't immediately make it a good movie. However, when a movie gets a ridiculous amount of hype like this one did, it polarizes people, and people who normally would have seen the movie, moved on and forgotten about it, now have to become lovers or haters of it. Then you have people judging it on a double standard and start praising/damning it for reasons they wouldn't normally feel so strongly about.

Warcraft was the first RTS I ever played, but I didn't own it, or play the sequels, so I don't have that attachment.

I prefer the game play of GW (It's radically different from WoW), and the lack of subscription fees is a huge point in it's favor. I suggest you give it a try.

Have played, don't currently. I don't remember what server. I mostly play Guild Wars. The lack of monthly fees make it superior to WoW in my book.

That was fun. This should be done more often.

Shouldn't have to clear the cache if you do a hard refresh. *grumble grumble* My browser was damn sure var curEp = 53, and the only way to get it to change it's mind was to clear the cache. Stupid Firefox.

Tried that already, Star Trek is still latest. And yes, I tried a hard refresh, a couple times, no luck.

Not on my screen, it shows Star Trek as the latest.

This isn't appearing on the main page for me. Luckily for me I'm savvy enough to guess the url it's stored at, so it's downloading as I post this, but I thought I'd let you know in case it's not just me.

But would you want to teach a class full of the kind of people who would go to a class on pooping?

So it's art if someone sets out with the intention of making art? Do you consider 4' 33" art, or monochromatic paintings to be art? If I did the same thing, would it still be art?

I agree that most games are not art. And that's fine, because most game developers don't set out to make art, but to make an enjoyable experience that will also make them money. I just disagree with people saying that video games can't be art. And yes, I believe the same goes for movies as well.

I've been trying to find a way to word my definition of art, and this is the best I've managed. "Art is a deliberate arrangement of elements to invoke a sense of beauty, emotion, contemplation, or awe." These things are subjective, thus why I believe what is and isn't art can vary between people.

There was an article about this on Cracked that I think is worth a read. Personally, I think art is kind of an abstract term, and what is or isn't art can very wildly from person to person. For example, I don't think something like 4' 33" is art, but there are probably people out there who think it is. And I'm ok with that.

That's a fair point. I don't know, guests seem to be pretty hit or miss here, and what I'm afraid will happen is he'll tell an interesting behind the scenes story or two, then just sit there letting you guys talk, occasionally saying something like "I worked on that shot." I could be wrong and he'll be awesome, but if I'm right, it could kill the commentary. Having him there in addition to all four of you means if that does happen, it more or less turns into a regular commentary with a little extra input. If he's good, then I guess you have to restrain yourselves and talk less.

Why do we have to lose someone to have a guest? Does your equipment limit you to four people? Is it because the format has always been 4 people? I'd love it if you had guests in addition to the regular cast, as opposed to in place of one.

I haven't tested it with other browsers or computers, but as far as I know, it'll work. I don't claim to be an expert though, I really only know enough about CSS to meddle. Want me to email you the CSS files?

I didn't change a lot, just some stuff to make it easier (for me) to use, and a few aesthetics that annoyed me.

In all this discussion, I'm surprised no one brought up the three things that bug me the most about this movie.
1. Why the hell does Kirk fly the Enterprise toward a black hole? So they can destroy a ship that is doomed anyway? That seems like an incredibly stupid thing to do, and no one questions it.
2. They blow up the warp core, or whatever it was, to escape said black hole, which means it's explosion is way more powerful then the supernova we saw get sucked into a black hole made from a speck of red matter, while this one was made from a huge ass ball of the stuff. And why did no one think to drop one on Nero? Why don't they have these things in their missiles? Holy shit.
3. Why the hell is Nero's ship so heavily armed? It's a mining barge. How many mining barges can you think of that have missile launchers, or even weapons of any sort? And he has an ass ton of them, enough to wipe out fleets.
