A few years ago someone posted their account of why Flash Gordon is the way it is. They attended a test screening, and the audience was very quiet as it went on. Maybe a half hour in, the poster turned to his friend and whispered, "I think this is SUPPOSE to be funny" and they started laughing at it. The rest of the crowd started in as well, and soon everyone was having a great time except one guy behind him... the director. He was NOT making a comedy. After the screening they quizzed people on what the good comedy bits were and when the film came out those were gone.

Similar to Rifftrax, I often only rent a film because you guys have done a commentary. So long as it is in fact possible to rent the sucker (or at least "find" it), don't let that hold you back. Speaking of which, the three 90's Gamera movies would make good episodes smile
(Someone did fun iRiffs of them despite the second film now being very hard to find and not being on Netflix)

I'd like to toss out the suggestion of "Six String Samurai". Another podcast I won't name tried it and brought no game, but it would be interesting to hear your take on a low budget indie. Also maybe an old school sci fi anime, such as "Akira" or "Nausicaa".
