Interesting!  Speaking of new podcasts, will we be getting something from "what are you doing movie?" On Star Wars The Force Awakens anytime soon?

I wonder what the boys have to say about The Force Awakens.  Can't wait to hear the obligatory movie commentary for this one!

That wasn't established in the movie though dude.

Yeah, that's more in line with what I was thinking.  I can buy that Rey can understand Droid Speech and Wookie.  I can buy that she can fix different mechanical things and that she can fly almost any type of ship.  I just thought that the force Mastery in her was too rushed.  There seems to be some lazy writing in TFA.  And Poe getting off Jakku wasn't one of them.

So I'm having a discussion on FaceBook about plot holes.  Is a plot hole something that can not be explained or is it something that doesn't make sense in the movie?  I personally think it's the later.  I think Star wars Episode 7 has a lot of plot holes with regards to Rey and her force abilities.  She seems to be able to do things without it being established that she had training and what not.

I had someone recently give me two of their old c-stands; sorta...  One of the stands is complete but the other one had a broken detachable turtle base.  The main part of the stand and the grip head and arm are in great condition since the stands are only a couple years old i think.  The brand is digital juice and I can't find anywhere that will just sell me a turtle base.  My question is; can I just buy any manufacture's detachable turtle base and use that with the rest of the stand?  Are all the different manufactures products that interchangeable?  Thank you all, and yes I've been around, just haven't had as much time to chime in these days... big_smile   Thanks in advanced for any help you can offer.

I knew about Darkest Hour and of course Prometheus, I just haven't been keeping close tabs on him since.  Can't believe he's doing Doc Strange though...

Interesting.. So this John Spaihts wrote that script?  has he done anything that makes good story sense at all?

I just heard about a movie that Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence.  The plot sounds suspiciously like Ark and that Randy Quaid movie that I can't remember the name of..  Thoughts?  How does Trey feel about this?  I know this might sound dumb, but I wanted to talk on here again...

Okay, so that happened, I'm starting to get Comic-book movie fatigue.  The movie was okay.  I liked the scenes where the Characters were just relaxing and having a good time.  THe hammer scenes were the best parts IMO.

bullet, how does the GH$ do with long recordings like weddings and lectures?  Does it tend to overheat after a given period of time?

Writhyn, do you have a Barnes and Noble in your area?  That's where I got my copy.  If they don't have it right now, they can order a copy for you.

This movie made me believe in movies again.  After all the AvengerSuperhero and Franchise crap that we've seen recently, I was starting to lose faith in actual movies that told us something about human beings.  But this movie is Awesome!  I remember seeing the first half when I was in my early 20's along with Stray Dogs, and being completely baffled by the craft in it.  The blocking in this movie is really well done.  And this guy does oners like nobody's business in this movie!  The first hour alone has multiple long takes that put Curon to shame IMO.  Everybody NEEDS to see this movie at least once.
Also, Akira Kurosawa is one of the best filmmakers to study IMO, if you want to direct.  He does so many interesting things with the actors, the camera, and editing!  I have a man crush on this guy.
If you haven't already, I recommend seeing Stray Dogs as well.  The movie has the same suspense feel as High and Low, but was done earlier in Kurosawa's career.  Criterion also has quite a few of his good movies on Blu-Ray including Seven Samurai, which I am currently watching, and Hidden Fortress.  I highly recommend you guys at least rent some of his flicks on itunes or whatever service you use.  Good stuff.

Since Interstellar came out on video today, I was wondering if you guys wanted to do a commentary on it... big_smile

Aw, No...

Well, it was fun while it lasted.  I enjoyed your podcasts since the days of geekza, and have known who fig was on the internet since the np2k forum days.  I originally listened in because Chris Hanel was one of the two geekza guys in the beginning.  And over time I became familiar with Teague, Michael, Bryan and Trey since you all did Star Wars fanfims back when tfn was big.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the content that you guys have put out under down in front and friends in your head.  I've also learned a lot about how and why movies work the way they do from you guys.  There have been some real eye-opening discussions on this podcast.

The community here has been a unique one, and in my opinion better than the community on tfn.  I got along handsomely with all of you and although I didn't chime in all that often over the last year and a half, I've still read what people had to say.

Teague, Bryan, Michael, Trey, Eddie, Chloe and whomever else has been on this podcast; this is the closing of a chapter in you life.  It's been fun.  I can understand you guys wanting to move on to other things, it's in our human nature to grow and change.  I wish you all a very fond farewell and hope you all have a very happy and great life ahead!  Cheers!

haven't been on here in quite awhile.  How's everyone been?  I saw this movie back in college and liked it.  I remember liking the cutting of this movie moving between four different stories.  It kept the pace moving and didn't feel long to me at all.

Glad to hear Michael is doing so well!

Also, how do I find out when you guys will be doing live shows now?

to each his own then.  I just found the music competing with the dialogue at times for my attention. This makes it confusing for me since I'm hearing impaired to begin with.  I don't think it's a good thing when the score is making it hard to understand what the characters are saying.  I noticed it the most during the last 30 minutes or so.

I liked this movie, but my only gripe is the music.  dear God that awful music!  45 minutes of the same 4 notes on a loop is not good for movie music!  Hans Zimmer has gotten lazy lately.

Well, whatever Trey was working on that was so bad he asked the videographer not to shoot any footage of him on set, they project he's talking about can't be Space Command.... roll

I'm having issues getting the Noah podcast to show up in the itunes feed.  I unsubscribed to the podcast and re-subscribed but that didn't do anything.  Then I deleted the podcast and when I went to subscribe again, not only do none of the episodes show up, but the artwork is missing.  What the hell!
