Actually I think it was more moving than if one of the superheroes had been killed.

I think people would care more if Tony got blown up by that nuke.

I don't think Shane Black would have been very happy about that.

I'd be the even younger Stark child. Maybe he'd have a chance of surviving.

If you could have been born anywhere in the world, where would it have been?

Oh, wow. Yeah. I was at that panel.

We really need to get a new clapping macro, I bet Orson's hands are getting sore.

Thor is SUCH a bad film, and the Dutch angles are 90% of why.

Passive? Weak? Are these seriously adjectives we're supposed to believe describe Black Widow?

So…the serialization of men is OK because it's POSITIVE? K.

Dark Shadows got $9 million opening day. Can we stop giving that guy movies now?

I really don't understand that image. Are we supposed to believe that the way the male Avengers are posed is completely unsexual?

Perhaps I have misrepresented myself - I enjoyed the Iron Man films and I thought there were a lot of fun scenes in the second one. But if you were to ask me what Black Widow's role in the film was, I would have trouble telling you.  smile

That's OK, neither can Jon Favreau.

I have the IFotOS file saved on my old starwars.homestead.com site if anyone needs if. I'll just need to find the password.

I'm still not sure how well they can estimate Sunday sales by morning. I hadn't even decided to go for a second time until after they'd already announced the figures. I wouldn't be surprised to see the number jump a million or five when the announce the actual sales.

Heh, I was right! The official numbers peg the weekend at $207 million. Must be that IMAX 3D screening I went to on Sunday.

While Disney does get a cut of this because of the merger, most of it still belongs to Paramount.

My understanding is that it's fully a Disney film, but Paramount gets a cut of earnings and their name on the masthead. It's kind of a mess. Happily Avengers is performing so well I think there's enough money to go around.

It made more (domestically) on Friday alone than John Carter did in its entire run.     Ouch.

Disney's 1 for 2 so far, then.

It's already made more, in three days, than either Thor or Captain America made in their entire run.

I really wanted to like CABIN, but by the end I was just wishing that Brad Whitford would be cast in a show written by Joss Whedon.

There was nothing particularly wrong with it, and it was certainly funny, as funny as, say, Shaun Of The Dead, but there was nothing about it that made me want to revisit it.

And yes, for all the 'you think you know the story' setup, the script itself is designed to lead you down a very predictable path. I can't figure out why they didn't save the Whitford-Jenkins reveal until halfway throug the film, except that without those scenes, the film is a very boring horror film.

Excellent jobs, both of you. But I think this one should go in Phi's baby album.

I think all movies should be A. If I want deep and persistant, I'll read a book or watch a TV show.

So how's that PT edit coming, Eddie?

A movie adaptation of Dune would look like John Carter only with less action.

No one's touching Dune with a ten-foot spice pipe.
