I don't have anything relevant to say about Iron Man 2, but Thor was worth seeing for Chris Hemsworth and his rather fetching biceps.
And Natalie Portman.

We will discuss Nolan quite a bit when we go screaming through the Batman filmography, though I will say its not enough to just say "Nolan's batman is badly written," you have to be a bit more specific if you make that claim.
Iron Man was a pleasant surprise.... there had just been so many mediocre superhero flicks before it. I have some problems with Iron Man 2 but that one is still a lot of fun. I wonder how Iron Man 3 is going to turn out... Shane Black (Lethal Weapon films, Last Action Hero, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) is writing & directing it.
I don't get the love for Nolan's Batman films... they're badly written & acted (Heath Ledger was good though), silly, and utterly pretentious. Oh, and "realistic" comic book movies? Stupid... comic books & superheroes are inherently unrealistic. It can't be made realistic. It's not realistic. It's fundamentally absurd... including Batman.

Mars Attacks is fantastic.
I suggest Space Moses.
Dammit, guys, Chuck Russell directed A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 before The Blob! Of course he could have made a horror version of The Mask.
It's my favourite De Palma film, and probably his best film.
"Blow Out", Brian De Palma's 1981 thriller starring John Travolta as a movie sound recordist. 'Nuff said.

Haven't seen that one since it was in theaters. Does what I hate most in a movie: has five minutes set in an interesting future/fantasy world, then sends them to present day where it's cheaper to film. Only Terminator actually managed to pull it off well It's also sort of a bait and switch, as they had the rights to the toys and not the cartoon and thus were kind of limited in what they could do. No Orco, though, which was a good thing.
Thor is basically everything Masters of the Universe should have been.

Oh, Frank Langella is brilliant in that one. So is Raul Julia in Street Fighter...
Daredevil.
I hated the movie. I don't know whether or not it's the director, the story or Affleck... or even all of them, but it downright sucks.
It mainly sucked because it was written & directed by this guy...

I want a Daredevil film by David Fincher!
"Prepare to meet Kali... in HELL!"
This movie is just wrong
Ok, I had religion in school, and Kali is not some evil cult goddess. She is the Goddess of eternal energy, the Punisher Of Evil, and is very popular in mainstream Hinduism. Kali is not Satan.
I know who should play Connor MacLeod.
Sucker Punch was mind-numbingly awful. A complete waste of time.
Hack Snyder is just a terrible storyteller.
I have to say, the best Stephen King adaptations (Carrie, The Shining, The Dead Zone, Misery) are the ones King himself was not involved with. The made-for-TV adaptations by Mick Garris and King bores me to tears. The Stand is the worst... six hours of my life that I'll never get back. The best made-for-TV adaptation is Salem's Lot, well directed by Tobe Hooper who made cinema for television in this case. Oh yeah, and "It" is pretty decent.
Kubrick did horror pretty well. I read that Kubrick was offered to direct The Exorcist. Boy, I wonder how that would have played out...
Clive Barker's Nightbreed.
Remade by Guillermo del Toro.
RoboCop and RoboCop 2.
