"The Road Trip" had very little focus on the stretch of asphalt, and nobody stumbled over anything anywhere in the entire ten minutes.

Man, SG-1 had so many great ones.

Awesome Bit Character: "I'm talking about... a twist! Something nobody's expecting!"
Jack O'Neill (walks into the room after being off the regular cast for a couple seasons)" "You mean something like this?"
Vala Mal Doran: "Wow, I don't think anybody will see that coming."
Daniel Jackson: "Nope, there'll be spoilers."
Samantha Carter: "Are you kidding? It'll be in the commercial." (It was.)

Awesome! Looks like it was a ton of fun big_smile

Funny, of the three prequels I'd say that Ep1 *feels* the most like a Star Wars movie.

Hey, guys. I figured I'd share my ongoing series, Boter Cooks Something. It's an entry into an already-saturated segment, the YouTube cooking show.

I did a season from September last year until April this year, releasing an episode every other week, roughly, with a hiatus. Season 2 starts the first week of November and I'll be trying to do one episode every week. Here's a sample episode from last season, Pork Marsala with a guest host, Chris. (Not Vapes, that's another episode.)

As I'm posting this in a forum of creative types that are likely to notice technical aspects, I figure I should point out where I'm trying to improve BCS. First, I'm starting to try to do more closeups. Guest episodes are usually more difficult to do that with, but it's a goal. Second, audio is bad when the fridge decides to start going, so I'd like to get a pair of lapel mics either sometime during season 2 or by the start of season 3. Lastly, video quality is lacking in general; between HDV quality, white balance inconsistencies (especially early on), and that wide angle adapter, season 1 was establishing the content of the show, and further seasons will be working on production quality.

Anyhow, enough of me pointing out my own faults. The rest of season 1 can be found here:

I'll post here again when the first episode goes up (with guest host Vapes on his brand new Canon 70D); with good response I'll continue to post as new episodes go up, but if nobody pays attention then I won't keep flooding the board tongue

Mmmm Minecraft. Ricky had a server at one points that I had a decent amount of infrastructure on, I gotta see if I can get the map from him so I can keep working on it locally or something.

I enjoy the majority of Episode 1. The rest of the time, Jake Lloyd is speaking.

For Transformers, that'd be Vapes, he already said something about Dark of the Moon but not in-depth.

I enjoyed them as summer blockbusters, even able to look past the occasional logic holes, and enjoyed that the third one didn't have a ten minute, "Let's have Sam's parents embarrass him," scene. I still need to watch the third one at home sometime; the Blu-Ray release was overpriced and under-special-featured so I still haven't picked it up, and I'll admit that it was hard to tell what was going on because a lot of the robots were more monochrome. "So-and-so died? When did that happen? Oh, in an opening scene while it was still somewhat light out at the drive-in."

So... I enjoyed them but as you can tell from the above rambling, I'm not the one to defend them, exactly.

There are two things I like* - old 4X games and Timothy Zahn's writing.

"Parallax" will be both - a 4X (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate) strategy game incorporating many of the species, technologies and worlds that Zahn has made up in his original novels over the years.

The pitch to get Parallax produced has already been on Kickstarter once, but didn't meet its goal. They're relaunching starting today. I missed it the first time around so I jumped at the chance to back it this time.

Give it a look. If you've read any of Zahn's stuff outside of his Star Wars novels, you'll probably recognize one of the species here. (I've actually only read The Conquerors Saga outside of his Star Wars stuff, but the main alien species there, the Zhirrzh, are one of the primary species in the game.)

And while we're here, we may as well use this thread to talk about Zahn's stuff in general, if any of you have read his other stuff. I'm tearing through a few Star Wars series again at the moment but am looking for something else afterward, and with Parallax on the table again I want to read more of Zahn's work.

*Yes, there are more, shut up, it's a literary device.

Ack which is which >.< Pronounce it as you'd pronounce "boater", not "botter".

Edit: I think I have IFOTOS lying around on my hard drive, but I don't know if Phi wants me putting it up on her server. High quality + early 2000s = huge filesize. Thank god for H.264 since then.

Augh this is what I get for joining the forums so late. I'll have to take a read through this at some point.

Whoops, totally skipped this. Didn't read the stickies. You'd think I was a n00b or something.

Boter, and called that offline by some too. Official documentation name is Andrew, last name is currently being sorted out. (Hehe that sounds more fun and mysterious than it actually is.)

Was on the TheForce.Net FanFilm Forum years ago, first as DarthArjuna then after some post milestone (I think 5,000) as Boter.

By day I'm a wedding videographer and editor. By night... well I'd like to point to my YouTube channel here (screw it I will - youtube.com/Boter46) but I typically just play video games. Extra spare time goes into the channel with occasional larger film projects and other weekly content, including a YouTube cooking show (like the segment isn't saturated enough) called Boter Cooks Something whose second season will start in November.

And to answer some of the prompting questions - my worst injury is breaking my nose - twice. Once with my own foot, once with a lightsaber. Pizza, um, a bit doughy and the topping changes day to day, Hawaiian is nice though. I think Teague already has my sister's phone number so that's enough of that, you creepy folk.

Holy shit it's Boter. About time you made your way over to these parts.

I've gotten that a few times, prior to joining up. Teague's registration email said ABOUT DAMN TIME.

Early demos, hell, I still listen to the Insidious overdub YouTube video in the car now and then.

Don't rush it, but keep us updated smile
