Re: The Down In Front Wiki (UPDATED WITH MISSION 1 INFO. SEE LATEST POST)
I just took a look at what's up so far. Damn, from a request by me to a full wiki in just a couple days. Good work!

Does anyone have any wiki experience at all? Any experience with infoboxes? Because I've been trying for hours to create one for the episode pages and I'm floundering.
There are videos on youtube, mate. Don't know how helpful they are-
How deep does this wiki code rabbit hole go?
Totally open to thoughts about how to implement the timecode/quote data from the Halp project.
Can the quotes be linked to a player that plays them back like a frickin DVD menu?
Hooooooooolden?
Yes.
I would suggest moving the content from the "Down in Front" page and have it be the main page content. As it is the main page looks bare and I initially assumed the "Down in Front" link would lead to the actual site instead of to a wiki page.
I did it, but I don't like it. I suspect we're going to eventually have stuff to go on the front page that is proper front page material. (Like pictures, for one thing.) But then we can always move the show stuff back to "Down in Front". Meanwhile, I made that a redirect.
EDIT: Over at Zarban.com, I added buttons that link to the wikis for various franchises, so if you click one of the buttons on the front page you get the franchise listing with a link to Wookieepedia in the case of Star Wars and Memory Alpha in the case of Star Trek. Check 'em out. Some of them are pretty bad-ass.

Wow, super cool. I even made an account and made two edits! (Geekza in 2006, and changed pause point to unpause point, which is what we more typically say.)
I've never edited Wiki stuff before. It's fun.
Is there a Geekza page?
EDIT: No, there's not, lol. I was going to link to Geekza on something else but you should link to the old Geekza episodes on DiF, Teague.

There's some. downinfront.net/geekza.
Yeah, that's what I mean. You should link to them on the DiF wiki
Have people given up on this already?
Sorry, I've had a PACKED schedule all through Thanksgiving, and unfortunately my wiki work got pushed to the wayside a little. I'm going to do more work on it tonight.
Let me know what you need me to do. Anything you want me to write?
Well, I really wanted to build an outline for the episode pages, but I guess there's no point in waiting if we can get started now.
Pick an episode, whichever's your favorite, and take notes on all the topics discussed. I'll do the same. That'll be the centerpiece of each page, I think. Everything else is just basic info to fill out the page. That should get us started right.
At this point I've totally given up on infoboxes. I think we can get on without them for now.
Ok, I had already claimed Back to the Future, so I'll do that one.
Did that video I posted not help you with the infoboxes? Sorry.

Oh, it's not your fault. I just can't grasp it, and I don't really have enough time to devote to learning it right now.
Fair enough. If you think we can do without them for now, we shall
ANNOUNCEMENT: WIKI MISSION ONE IS A GO.
CODENAME: OPERATION COUNTDOWN
WIKI MISSION ONE DETAILS:
Q: What the fuck, Doc?
A: You know this whole Wiki thing? It's time to crowdsource some editing, bitches. I'm asking for recruits to assemble some information.
Q: What kind of information?
A: I'm glad you asked, forum member! You know that whole "pause/unpause point" thing that Teague's always doing? Well, the noble Jimmy B sent me a complete, comprehensive list of all the places in the movies that you pause/unpause at. He's awesome, props to him.
I made a list out of them. You know. Like you do. But as you'll notice, it's missing some key bits of information. Namely the timecodes in both the movies and the episodes when the unpause point occurs.
Q: So, are you saying...
A: Yes! I only have access to a handful of the many, many movies that DiF has done commentaries for. Getting the episode timecodes is easy, if time-consuming. Getting the movie timecodes? That's another story.
Q: So, Project Halp all over again?
A: Yes, but even simpler! Take a chunk of episodes, post both timecodes, and I'll put them in the Wiki. Easy as that, and the end result will be super cool.
Q: Which ones need to be done?
A: These ones!
Q: Are you insane?
A:

Can we go back to the part where I'm awesome and not when I forgot to do the time codes of the films I own?

Looking like this will be a fun thing to contribute to.
Off the top of my head, made a quick adjustment and updated my first appearance, from Planet Terror to Sucker Punch.
When I get some free time, I'll see what else I can contribute.
Is there a list of Commentaries that were recorded but for whatever reason (loss of audio file?) the recording was lost?

Here's a thread about "lost" commentaries.
