Topic: Music

OK so at about third on my list of hobbies is writing songs. I don't have nearly enough time in my week to make anything serious of it, but I'm trying to get back to the level I was at a few years ago. Tonight I wrote a song I'm actually pretty happy with:

Friend Zone That Shit

And then the rock version:

I need to do a bunch of work to turn it into a proper song, but there's a bit of a start here and I wanted to share.

Any other amateur musicians in DIFF?

Re: Music

Re: Music

I used to be in a band, but the recordings we have can't be used as they're actually owned by some record company. There's an 'EP Preview' up on Youtube though made from some rough demo's that we did.

Re: Music

I'm a super-amateur film composer by necessity, but I've been playing piano every day since I was a kid. A lot of my film stuff is super recent, so I don't want to release them until the films come out, mostly this fall I presume, but there are a couple tracks on my soundcloud that'll give you an idea: http://soundcloud.com/rvsbmovie
Teague is my 'official' critic/guidance counselor for all my tracks, so there's a little of him in all of my stuff... I'll try recording some of my favorite piano songs and putting them up for yall to enjoy.

Re: Music

Hey sir, I really liked that, listened to it twice. Love the samples.

I was killing a bit of time and did some other interpretations of your album cover, for funsies. You're welcome to actually use any of these if you'd like to, otherwise, consider them fan art.

Here's a couple examples, and a ZIP folder with 11 variations total.

Since i'm still getting a hang of editing (and premiere in general), i'd love get some tips, tricks, critiques, etc. from you or anyone else out there.

i'll gladly buy you a burrito and a pint next time you're in the bay area.
