Topic: Random Things You Need To Share
EDIT: So I was trying to figure out where the heck I should put this, it didn't really fit in dubious musical taste, and it's not random movie talk, so I'm making a new thread. This one's gonna be for just random one-off posts where you would like to share something, but it doesn't really deserve a full thread of it's own. So anyways ooooon wiiith the SHOOOW!!!
(Warning, this post goes very musical theater fan-boyish, so if that's not your game, feel free to skip over)
I want to talk about Matthew Morrison for a minute.
This guy. /\ Right 'ere.
Most people will probably recognize him as the teacher from Glee, which is true, he definitely became more of a household figure (if not name) because of Glee. But the thing I really love about him is he's a pretty solid broadway star and is an INCREDIBLE performer in his own right.
He starred in South Pacific on Broadway...which I mention only as an excuse to post this picture...
Oh yes, you're welcome.
Alright, a video too.
Also Hairspray...
Dat suuit, mmhmmmmmm.
Lately he's obviously been very busy with Glee...which I'm not really going to post anything from... because, even I can't stand Glee anymore... except this. Because, my god people...look at these two.
Unforunately that's the best version I could find online. But seriously, if you at all a fan of NPH and Matthew Morrison, go find a copy of this episode (s1 ep19:Dream On), watch the whole thing for a bunch of NPH being kinda dickish (Which is always great) or you can skip straight to the bar scene (Drunk NPH and MM singing Piano man (Audio only: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aizZ6RUKam0) and then to the final duet. Because it is so freaking awesome watching these 2 broadway dudes go full tilt broadway style at each other.
But anyways, what brought all this on is I redisovered MM's other work a couple weeks back and I'm still just in awe of how awesome this guy is.
One of his music videos:
A Tony performance (You can skip Lea's performance...no seriously you CAN skip it, don't say I didn't warn you.)
And finally vfor this post, last month he released his first album "Where It All Began" which is this amazing congregation of old school broadway jazz and musical numbers thrown in with his own flair. Needless to say, it's one of the smoothest things I've ever listened to.
His cover of Singing In The Rain:
The entire album is incredible.
So anyways, I just wanted to share all that. Not sure why, just felt like it. At the very least you have a new insight into one of my all time man crushes But seriously though, right up there with NPH.
Hope at least someone found this entertaining.
Chat on dear brothers and sisters, chat on!
