Okay, screw that, I went ahead and watched instead.
Now, having only watched the first two Hobbit films prior to this, I quite enjoyed it. Didn't feel bloated, and pacing was pretty much spot on.
Of course, cutting three 3-hour long films into one 4hour21minute film should be less bloated I guess.
If you've not seen the hobbit films, or, as I, was bored after the first one, I highly recommend the Tolkien Edit.

Having just started going through some of the BTS stuff with my wife after getting the EE, the Tolkien edit sounds very interesting.
Also, just to throw more fuel on ME fire, some one suggested they do an Aragorn film based upon the appendices in LOTR, since they have the rights to those books.

Thank you. I had forgotten about that one. I think there is another one about Arathorn, Aragorn's father, leading the Dunedain.
