Re: Source Code

I came here to see if I was the only person hearing glitches....instead I got a cat in zero G.

...my picture seems to have disappeared... it was, "I'm okay with this.jpg"

Just because I'm curious, what causes the skipping & 1hr + dead air at the end of the file?

Re: Source Code

That video has to be the greatest thing I've seen on youtube. Thanks Teague, you've brightened up the day.

The cat in that video is planning the demise of everyone involved.

Re: Source Code

Jeffery Wrights definitive role was as Jean Michel Basquiat in the 1994(?) film Basquiat.  He's great in that (which has just a great cast, David Bowie as Andy Warhol, Dennis Hopkins, Parker Posey) but he's also been in Casino Royale and a bunch of other stuff.

The Dark Knight commentary is likely going to out for download next since there's no live show until the LotR marathon on 3/10.

As for the Source Code commentary, sucks that there were glitches with it but at least it wasn't completely lost.  Only real problem I had is that there's around an hour of silence at the end.  No big deal, just thought I would mention it.

Re: Source Code

so do i need to watch the film while listening to the commentary? would love to have something to listen to on my way to school that is longer than the intermission

Re: Source Code

In this one particular case, you actually can't. This one has some time jumps (lol, source code) in the MP3 that make it impossible to sync.

But even generally, nope! Most folks listen to DIF without having the movie on. (To our surprise.)

Re: Source Code

I just started this one, but it already gave me something awesome. The phrase "rake of an arguement".

Nice one. very useful.

Anyways, back into it.

EDIT: Hey Teague, any chance of a full unglitchy version of that exposure rant sometime? Thats still one thing that aggravates me to no end.

Re: Source Code

I can emulate it in text form, I guess. Or it can come up in "pet peeves about your industry," an Intermission style topic that just occurred to me.

That Intermission episode should be called, "Bitching About The Job". smile

I've not heard this yet, but watching Source Code was almost as enjoyable as fucking a vegetable grater.

on the subject of LOTR and glitches, is the team putting in place numerous contingencies so you don't reach the end (at hour 13ish) only to find it wasn't recording or that the file is too big to save ?

12 hours at 64kbps should be around half a gigabyte - enough to fit onto an mp3-CD for sale at Amazon. big_smile

We're going to save and back up the recording at each disc break, and I'm hoping we can figure out a way to record to at least two separate locations, too.

Re: Source Code

Is it just me, or is there just over an hour of dead air on the MP3 after the sign-off?

Re: Source Code

I'd try downloading it again or loading it in a different player, mine finished on time.

EDIT: Wait no, same.

Yeah me too, the whole file downloaded at almost 2 and a half hours. I lobbed the dead hour off in real player. smile

Re: Source Code

I love the bit in the movie where she's like "Well, besides that guy, you came out of that bathroom..." and he's all "What? ME!?" and he panics and starts looking through his own bag. I kinda wish they had played that up a bit more, like there's something in his bag or on his person that kinda makes it look like he could have been the guy. I need a screw driver to get into the airvent. *search search search*. Oh, I just happen to have this sort of screwdriver on my swiss army knife that I happen to have on me right now. I also have this date marked and circled in my calendar for some reason. I wonder if that's the day I had planned to ask her out, or if that's the day I'll be doing the big exam, or maybe it's my sister's birthday or something, or maybe I'm the bomber.

One question: Why does this guy carry around his broken cell phone? Did it break that morning or something? That was kinda weird.

I liked this movie a lot. I'm with Trey in that the only really negative thing I can think of is the way they inject little bits of the future into the movie.

Also, if you look at the title card of the movie it kinda tells you what's up. On the left it says "Source Code". Then it gets underlined. The line, on the far right of the frame, forks off into two lines. I didn't even notice that the first time I watched it.

The first time I noticed it, I figured that they were just doing a "train tracks" thing, but that's a lot cooler, and it actually makes me appreciate the movie more.
