If only my movie room was that cool,... *jealous*

"The most difficult part was ex—"
—plaining to my sisters what "TRWNED" means.
These videos do nothing to capture the level of awesome of this event. Thanks Teague and everybody!
I always imagined Zarban as a sickly, precocious youth (possibly with a ventilator) who, when not watching film, spent his time fapping to Proust.
He looks oddly normal. I am disappoint.
Zarban is a great guy. (It's still hard for me to not-call-him Zarban, even knowing his name.) Exactly what I expected personality-wise - smart, conscientious, witty - plus he has the world's coolest office / home theater. Recorded a special Intermission with him, Holden, and Jim, just talking about DIF and the community and random stuff that nobody but forum folk would be too interested in.
Cookies with my picture on them. I... uhh... wait, what?
And Zarban, can I live in your basement for the rest of my life? It won't be for very long, I'm quite old.
Did I just eat lots of cheese and dream about DiF again?

I already have a senior citizen living with me that I thought the same thing about.
But that doesn't mean the answer is no....
I feel jealous and slightly snubbed.
It's okay, I guess, you guys have your parties without me. I mean, <snif>, I know I'm not one of the 'cool' kids everyondy wants to hang out with, or be seen with, or ride on the same bus with...but I have feelings, darn it!

We were just talking about you too. Behind your back. It was mostly negative.
But seriously, Zarban and I were like, "who else is around here?" And it was, "shit, Drew. Shit. We should have asked this question sooner."
Also, I'm karma-ing Zarban. Not only was he not a serial killer, but he also bought everyone pizza. I like Zarban.

Dammit! I KNEW there was somebody else in the area we should have been contacting!
I'd have brought my fireplace and smoking jacket.
Classed your shit up, and stuff.
I've been sitting here placing bets on which of my girls will win the next squabble over dolls. You guys sooo missed out.
Seriously, though, open invite. I've got people in the city you should meet, theater people.
Apology accepted! I like that you've raised awareness of the popularity of summit-y activity.
I don't usually like to announce my own travel plans for security purposes, but in a somewhat limited circle like this one I'll say that I'm heading for the Pacific Northwest next June to better view the Transit of Venus. We'll be staying with distant family who own a cozy B&B on the beach-- seriously in the surf-- about 100 miles south of Vancouver. I call Sunset bonfire party on the strand on the 5th, telescopic and photographic equipment recommended, clouds permitting. There's also an eclipse that week.

Well if you get to Seattle we can have a little mini-DIF summit. I doubt Teague'll be there, but, um, I've been mentioned on the shows a couple times, so I count, eh?
Hell yeah, DIF, TFN, we've e-known each other for years, it'd be excellent to actually meet you. Señor Vayda can vouch for me being the non-threatening type of crazed wacko, we snuck him into the front row at the Shuttle Endeavour launch. Hopefully I can keep my phone out of the ocean on the western shore.
We'll be flying into Seattle and staying just outside of Pacific Beach State Park.
Lots of other B&Bs in town there, always a better deal than hotels.

Well great, then! I'll stick a pin in the calendar, and see if I can convince any DIFers to come up that weekend too.
By the way, we did an Intermission during this, and it's up now.
I, too had an arc during this episode. It started with me curled in the fetal position, questioning my worth and ended with me giving DiF a virtual hug.
I really enjoyed this episode of the Intermission, and I'm hoping you do more episodes when you chat about DiF and general stuff (the anniversary episodes only come along once a year after all!).
Really fun listen, I also want to thank you guys for delivering the awesomeness of DIF to us. I've been listening to fan commentaries for years and no-one delivers this level of quality and analysis week by week.
Really cool to actually hear Zarban too, his site has been a godsend over the years when it comes to tracking down obscure stuff.
Damn you Teague for messing with the naming conventions!
I rather enjoyed this episode, it was cool hearing about how people found DIF. How did everybody else here find it? I first came about it when somebody (I'm assuming it was Teague) posted a link to the Episode I commentary on TFN, but I didn't become a regular listener until the first anniversary show. I'd actually forgotten all about it! Prior to DIF, I did listen to Geekza now and then and way before that I was a big fan of Digital Llama Radio.
