I used to play it, a LOT. Got blue version in 3rd grade for my GameBoy Pocket and I was hooked all through middle school, and on and off in high school. It's since faded away though. It got to the point where I would only play LeafGreen at night to put myself to sleep, then eventually I just stopped altogether. And now my brain is full of tons of useless Pokemon knowledge. It was always a fun game though.

I was playing my Pokemon Gold game last year when the power went out during Hurricane Irene. And I was ready to playing it during Sandy, but he power stayed on. 
I also have Red and Yellow... and Pokemon Snap and Stadium on N64.

I was a couple of years too old for Pokemon when it first came around, so I never got into it at all.
Probably didn't help that I didn't own a Game Boy.

I love Pokemon. Played every gen, except black and white (cuz of stupid real life stuff).

I think this missed my generation, it was a thing the younger kids in school...maybe 5 ish years younger...seemed to be into. I was Mario and Zelda & Mike Tyson's punch out (in Nintendo terms) plus I was a PC nerd so I had Zork text adventures, Leisure Suit Larry and Starflight. I never got into Power Rangers for the same reason: kids' stuff that I was too cool for. Voltron, now, that shit was radical (the Lions more than the vehicle one), and the lesser known Transor Z was slightly less awesome.
