Re: Your Favorite Bond Film?

License to Kill by a fair margin.  Dalton is hands down my favorite Bond, though- pending my ever getting around to seeing Skyfall- Craig has a good shot at equaling him.  Casino Royale is easily my second favorite, then Goldfinger is tied with Live and Let Die.  Those four in combination exemplify everything Bond is to me.

I'm sorry, but there are no Pierce Brosnan Bond movies of any value beyond the fact that Sean Bean shows up briefly during his run and even that doesn't make up for the utter atrocity of that incarnation of 007.

I think a more interesting question is "what is your favorite Bond SONG," frankly.  Least favorite would have been an interesting conversation before "Another Way To Die" ruined everything for everyone forever.

When.

Re: Your Favorite Bond Film?

My favorite Bond song has got to be Goldfinger. It's not a track that works out of context, but when I hear that brass opening in iTunes, I see the movie, Bond, one-liners, cars, gadgets... all of it. It encapsulates the franchise for me.

View to a Kill is great. Live and Let Die. Then Goldeneye. And, I'm sure this will be controversial, Die Another Day (its not Bond-y at all, I just like listening to it). And, Kyle, don't hit me, but I love Another Way To Die. *cowers*

I heartily approve of these selections. Though I'd put The Living Daylights over A View to a Kill.

They are more a joint second, really. In fact, there is no real order of the five except the fact that Live and Let Die is my absolute favourite. They are all great songs in my opinion smile

Re: Your Favorite Bond Film?

I actually don't like the song Live and Let Die that much. The chorus is great, but the song as a whole is kind of schizophrenic. It bounces all over the place in terms of tempo, style, and tone.

The song is one of the sole redeeming features of Live and Let Die for me. That and the incandescent Ms. Jane Seymour.

Anyone else noticed that Nolan ripped off The World Is Not Enough for The Dark Knight Rises?

Yeah, and there's a bit of TWINE in the villains' relationship. And the prison sequence is even reminiscent of the beginning of DAD.

TDK was mostly Heat. TDKR is mostly James Bond.

Warning: I'm probably rewriting this post as you read it.

Re: Your Favorite Bond Film?

Just went through all of the Bond films:

1) Goldfinger
2) Thunderball
3) Casino Royale
4) The Living Daylights
5) On Her Majesty's Secret Service

OHMSS has the best bond theme (with Living Daylights next).  I like it better than the actual 007 guitar riff.  The worst theme (and the worst song in the history of the world) is The Man With The Golden Gun.

This was a fun series.  I absolutely agree with him on Brosnan's films.  It's not Brosnan's fault, but his movies are unwatchable.

Re: Your Favorite Bond Film?

Am I the only one in love with "A view to a Kill"?

Duran Duran theme, Grace Jones, Chrisopher effin Walken.... !?

Otherwise OHMSS is good and I often claim Lazenby being my fav bond, tho I have a soft heart for the Brosnan/Moore style as well (more casual / humorous take on it)
