Re: Your Random Creations

That's probably the greatest compliment I've ever gotten. And a huge ego boost. Merci!

Also, there are three tracks; guitar, bass and vocals. The bass is just the E string on a guitar, which seems to be a bit loud, and also: wrongly played.

Re: Your Random Creations

Small update. Symmetry, nose and mouth have been reduced. Obsessing over the pose at the moment, not happy with how rigid and lifeless it is. To be refined.

Bigger? I like your paint. Colour has never been something I could do.

/Dave's awesome sketch

Rigidity could be from the ears being a little too high, making it feel like her head is tilted down and throwing the balance.

Thank you. I'm keeping this one loose and low-res otherwise I'll agonise over every little detail and spend 20 hours on what's supposed to be a 'quick study'. Actually I suck at colour too and drawing from imaginaton is still a pain. I'm still learning how to draw/paint properly so everything is new and challenging for me at this stage.

Re: Your Random Creations

Cool! Glad it worked. Looking at it a little more closely, the whole sketch seems a little tall, like it's stretched in Y, which could also be what's irking you about the pose. Here's what I mean:

Re: Your Random Creations

I see what you mean, but if the proportions get too normalised I think the character starts to look a little too young. I'll finish building the components of the pose, maybe replace the hair, and take another look.

Re: Your Random Creations

Oh yeah, I can see that. Makes me wonder, what features indicate age the most? Would it be a jawline/cheekbone thing?

Re: Your Random Creations

Much of it is in the fullness of the cheeks. As you get older the pads of fat in the face sag, jowls get more pronounced, cheeks hollow.

Also eyes.

Re: Your Random Creations

I love stop motion so much.
I wish I still had the tapes (yes, tapes) of my stop motion attempts with Star Wars figures.

PS: I love the vintage toys too!
Thanks for sharing Seth!

Re: Your Random Creations

Digital sketch from a few months ago of someone with the uncanny ability to make me feel like I can do anything. Now it hurts to look at. Long story.

Blocking body, refining arms. Really want to shade this - hard to provide dimension to shapes without shadow.
Done for the night - need fresh eyes.

I decided to start fooling around in Photoshop a bit more, and being a bit of a space nerd, I decided to try my hand at making a galaxy. It's not very good, but hey.
