I owned that one, had it on my wall for years.   In fact I may still have it somewhere.

As I recall it came with the soundtrack album (hence the fold marks).

I had the Williams score as soon as it came out, but I don't remember that poster at all.

I feel swizzed now.

That's one of those posters where I want to ask the artist, "have you actually seen the movie?"

There's no reason why they would have seen the movie. Just as the cover art for books is often done by someone who just has a synopsis, so movie poster art (especially back then) is probably based on a few publicity stills.

Aw. I didn't really know this guy, just met him briefly one time with Trey and Amy, but he seemed like an incredibly cool and kind dude. Sad day.

Re: Star Wars (Not-so-special edition.)

In late 2003 I got an email outa the blue from Richard - he was a Pink Five fan and wanted to know if he could have a DVD to show when he did personal appearances.  Needless to say, we hooked him up.

In 2004 we went to Celebration III, and Richard was in the autograph hall signing.  We got in his line and when we got to the front I said, "hey, so we're the ones who made Pink Five..."

At which point he leapt to his feet and said "Of course I know who you are.  Get over here, let's get a picture!"   So we did.

As I recall Teague was witness to this, yes?   In fact, it's pretty likely Teague took the picture.

We hung out at his table for a bit and gave him a new DVD with the latest episode on it.   Never saw him again, though we did exchange a few more emails over the years.

A cool dude, totally.

I did meet him at a small con years ago, nice bloke. Turned out he lived in Bath, Somerset and Red Leader runs, or atleast used to run a Bed and Breakfast in Devon

Such a sweet pic Trey!

I always liked the fact that he was not on screen very much but still enjoyed the fans and appearances.

Not sure where else to post this so I guess this is as good a place as any:
Dark Horse will be publishing, in September, a comic adaptation of George Lucas' original script simply titled "The Star Wars."

The man is so cool that that stoner dude in the background is quietly masturbating right there on the spot! Who hasn't been there?—sometimes your mind gets blown at conventions...

I love it that Alec Guiness looks just as uncomfortable as I always imagined him looking. Reminds me of this personal favorite.

Re: Star Wars (Not-so-special edition.)

If you haven't seen it, you have to watch the 1978 Japanese movie 'Message From Space' (Netflix streams it). They cast American Vic Morrow as their Alec Guiness, and you can just tell he knows Star Wars looked stupid while it was being filmed, and is hoping to God that the stupidity around him means this movie will be as big a hit. Sadly... no smile

Interesting read and always fun to consider the possibilities.

Honestly, I'm surprised Lucas doesn't try to get it off the ground now.
