Re: April Fools // "Tokes and Stokes"

Just so no one has to go hunting for it, the inception of this occurs during the Pulp Fiction commentary, from 36:01 to 40:15.

Also, I was the one who came up with the name, "Tokes & Stokes" but did not receive credit! I am now contemplating legal action. Apparently, you guys didn't learn a damn thing. smile

P.S. My favorite episode was the season 2, two-parter during February sweeps, where Stokes gets kidnapped and Tokes has to find him in 12 hours before the confetti bomb surgically implanted in his stomach by a Yakuza crime boss explodes. What a nail-biter that one was!

Re: April Fools // "Tokes and Stokes"

I still maintain the sitcom version pitched on the show would make an outstanding HBO half-hour series.
It'd be a 90s period piece

I'm disappointed that you didn't record a bit with Trey and edit it onto the end so we could get his reaction and thoughts on the whole thing.

My reaction is mostly that I can't believe the steering wheel was a balloon.   Genius.

Re: April Fools // "Tokes and Stokes"

So Trey, is it true that you quit the show?  And by "The show" I mean Friends in Your Head.  I thought I heard this mentioned during the "Tokes and Stokes" Intermission...

There needs to be an episode with the Harlem Globe Trotters.  That's all I'm saying.

Awesome work guys.

I hear Guy Ritchie is shooting a T&S movie, with Ben Stiller and Fozzie Bear.  Not sure how I feel about this.

Re: April Fools // "Tokes and Stokes"

This one's still not on iTunes. It's not showing up for me, anyway.

Is it in The Intermission feed?

It should pop up in the FIYH feed and The Intermission feed, but not WAYDM.

Re: April Fools // "Tokes and Stokes"

It's not in my FIYH feed upon refresh, in the Mac app or iPhone. Though that wouldn't be the first time iTunes podcasts have had updating issues for me.

By the way I haven't commented here yet, so I'll take a moment to say this whole thing is just fantastic.

Re: April Fools // "Tokes and Stokes"

This was so much fun to make.

The movie those other clips are from is called Pure Danger, starring and directed by C. Thomas Howell.

Somehow this straight to video feature from 1996 also happens to have one of the greatest car chases in film.

And a character that exclusively drives around in panel vans for some reason. Which worked perfectly for us.

Somehow the episode only just landed in my podcast bin.

Just. Wow guys. Great job, seriously.

I hope there's a plan to do a follow up episode with Trey.

You weren't kidding, if you ignore the score/acting and focus on just the stunt driving and the shots they're getting, that's a more impressive action sequence than most stuff I've seen out of hollywood in recent years.
I'd love to see someone re-score that with music from Ronin or something and see how it plays

EDIT: I was bored so I did this as an experiment. If you turn the latter down to about 15% it works: http://youtubedoubler.com/?video1=http% … uthorName=
