Please explain this "Log and Capture" contraption.

I'd love to see someone re-score that with music from Ronin or something and see how it plays

That right there sounds like an Alex Ruger challenge.

You called?

I love that I can just invoke you like that.

I think Alex harbors a secret resentment to this film as my shouty reactions to it ruined his post-Stokes-donut-coma-nap.

You did the right thing, Paul. It was a gateway donut.

No joke -- the most challenging part of this whole thing was figuring out how to transfer the DV tapes to disk. I haven't done it in the better part of a decade, all the connections and cables are different and the software just did not want to do it.

Yeah, whatever dad, we get it — technology is hard now.

Re: April Fools // "Tokes and Stokes"

I used to connect my old MiniDV camera to my DVD player to record clips of movies. Why I did that, I have no idea.

Re: April Fools // "Tokes and Stokes"

Well, back in myyy day.

But actually, no seriously, in my really early days I used to use my grandpas old Hi-8 camera. And to get that shit into the computer. I had to go to the college's library where they had 2 machines set up with a VHS/Hi-8 transfer box (looked like a VCR). So I would have to transfer the Hi-8 to VHS (In real time), and then transfer the VHS into whatever capture program they were using...in realtime again.

You don't know pain.

This was the only way to rip DVDs before you had DVD drives built in.

Technology now is dead easy. It's trying to transfer footage with practically a fucking hand crank and abacus that's confounding.

Re: April Fools // "Tokes and Stokes"

By the way, just for the record, as much as I complained about it, if we ever do any more T&S I am totally down to do Tokes again.

Man, I just don't know.

Re: April Fools // "Tokes and Stokes"

I had found this album on Spotify on the day by searching for "cop show". It was all we listened to during production.
