Topic: And now for something completely different

...and yet more of the same. Sorry if I'm posting a ton of music and it feels spammy. If so, I'll give it a rest.

That said: I just released my most recent score and I'm super excited about it. Because it's for a movie about real human beings talking and dealing with human things and there's not an explosion or spaceship to be found.

And the music reflects this...it's more Thomas Newman or Clint Mansell than Hans Zimmer. I recorded it with a string quartet and they kicked major ass.

This score feels like a step-up in terms of the maturity of my dramatic writing. I'd love it if you gave it a listen.

If you're strapped for time, start with track 3 and then skip to track 6.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. Makes my tummy all warm and stuff.

I'm not a soundtrack guy, but this was really cool. I especially liked track 3. More melody, I suppose. And I dig that artwork.

Warning: I'm probably rewriting this post as you read it.

Dude Teague brought the pain on that artwork.

Re: And now for something completely different

This was so utterly perfect for my mood today. Beautiful work, Alex.
Track 6. No Endings. Literally no endings, since I've had it on repeat. So, so good.

And I too am digging that artwork. Nice one, Teague.

Thank you so much! That really made my day...and today I needed something to make my day  smile

Re: And now for something completely different

I actually used a couple of these tracks (with Alex's permission — not to name drop or anything) in the Mike announcement.

Made 'em real quiet to keep the melodrama at an acceptably minimal level. The whole thing was actually a bit too much without the music.

Re: And now for something completely different

That is an absolutely absurd typewriter layout.  I cannot imagine getting any work done with that thing.  And that ruins the music for me, which is otherwise crafted with a level of talent that my brain cannot begin to conceive of possessing.

Thanks a LOT, Fig.

Speaking of bad keyboard layouts:
