This is odd as far as "creations" go, but I just spent like three hours on a giant Reddit post in /r/VFX. Again.
DaFuq? My brain hurts
Thanks for sharing, Teague. While I am not in the VFX field (my artistic talent is stick figures) I will be interning for my degree next year. The prospect is "The scariest thing ever." I've been married, had two kids, and faced some illnesses and nothing matches the uncertainty that I felt when my wife and I started planning out for the internship.
So, while not the same field, I completely appreciate the candor and honesty about the experience.
*should mail Teague a Diet Coke just 'cause*
Edit: if you see a double post, don't worry. I deleted it due to Internet issues.

Very well written, Teague. Though I can't speak to the VFX specific side of things, my internship at a wedding video company went much the same way - take time on what's assigned, be awesome, a good demo reel, etc.
One thing I'd add is, don't be afraid to ask questions. When I have interns working under me now (went from intern to lead editor in two years, granted it's a small company but still), I'd rather they ask a somewhat stupid question than try to stumble their own way through it for an hour. It'll frustrate them, it'll waste time, and while they may eventually find out a way to do it, chances are it won't be the best way to do it.
Also, I was going to try to give you a Diet Coke. I spent about twenty minutes looking for a video whose title I can't remember for a version of this with no text. Then I looked closer and realized it was a Diet Pepsi. Never could find what this originally belonged to. But, thought that counts.
Wow.
200...4, maybe? I'm trying to remember the title, too. It might be something like "Untitled." "Scripts?" Something.
EDIT: I need to see The Letter after this review.
I'm not sure whether I'm annoyed or validated to have discovered that, as expected, this was self-indulgent and a waste of my time.

My favourite will always be Teague and the Adobe Video Collection. Those packing peanuts...
This pane had been broken since I moved in to this house last year, so I knocked it out and replaced it with plexi and exacto-cut cinefoil. It's an homage to the big staircase window at Olana, the home of Fredric Edwin Church, first son of the Hudson River School. The house was designed by Church and Calvert Vaux in this style that could best be described as "Damascus Chateau." Look it up, it's gorgeous.
I have to point out that the way this thing is made is by starting with a solid piece of cinefoil, like... foil, and then meticulously cutting out the holes with a super-sharp knife. Like, I watched him do some practice runs, and they took hours. So much goddamned focus.
In other words, it looks so perfect and consistent, I'm worried people will mistake this for being easier than it was.
Super rad.

This is a sound design I made that will be featured in an upcoming audio production I'm working on.
A car accelerates through an intersection. An oncoming bus t-bones the car, which spins the car around, causing it to roll over several times until skidding to a stop across the pavement on its roof. The car settles and the driver suffers tinnitus.
16 layers (tracks)
34 individual sounds
3 hours of mixing, effects and mastering
That was absolutely stunning.
The only thing that caught my attention as being something that could use more work was the horn blaring. If that's meant to be the bus horn, I feel like it should be dripped with some "distance" effects that diminish as the bus gets closer. Right now the FX on it seem pretty dry and immediate, which would indicate that it's close, but it's fairly quiet, which indicates that it's not close, and it kinda stands out. Maybe do some lowpass fuckwithery as the horn gets closer, hair of reverb toward the beginning, and it gets louder as it approaches?
Like I said, that is the only thing that I can imagine working on any more. This is really impressive.

I agree completely. Luckily it's not a finished mix quite yet. I actually did affect the horn with a low pass and I pan and increase the volume as it gets louder, but haven't yet gone deep enough to "peel back" the low pass. The final mix will have a wet/dry envelope that does just that. Good ear, Teague! And thanks
Yup, I tried rapping. About Star Wars of all things.
Great job, Owen! I'm impressed.
My favorite line is:
"Troopers came down to storm Jakku
And I said "Hello" with a big Fuck You."
Not sure why but that made me laugh so hard.

Good Lad! I spotted it in my youtube feed. WUUUUBBBSS ITTTTT!
I was doodling on a scrap piece of paper earlier on and ended up with possibly the best drawing I've ever done. It's not much, but considering I'm historically horrendous when it comes to drawing - I'm quite proud of this.
And with a bit of Photoshoppyness.
Damn. Well done.
Wow, great work! Even before the photoshoppyness.
Thanks guys, it means a lot! I just hope this one wasn't a fluke
Well, it looks like that one wasn't a fluke. I took another stab and got something else I'm proud of. No Photoshop goodness this time round though (apart from a bit of levelling).
Dragon Ball once again. I always doodled stuff from DB since I was younger, so it's kind of a way for me to explicitly see improvement from what I'm used to getting.

A little mini-project I've been working on. A little dice rolling box for Friends in Your Dungeon so I can keep them (somewhat) contained.
It's not perfect, but it's not bad for a first attempt. Just a cheap $5 wood box from michaels, a couple coats of stain, couple coats of glossy sealer and a piece of craft felt and some spray glue for the lining. And a bit of super glue just to seal the upper edges of the felt to the box.
