Topic: I bound a book!

There aren't good options for study bibles with lots of margin space for notes, but Mrs Writhyn likes taking notes. So I printed out the books of James-Revelation and bound them myself. Next will be the epistles of Paul in two volumes (guy wrote a lot), and the gospels of Jesus and the Acts of the apostles in two volumes (guys did a lot). There's no law that says all the books have to be in one volume lol. Learned how to do it for this project. Style of binding is Coptic stitch. I'm proud of it, for my first attempt smile

That is *gorgeous*. I attended a book-binding workshop at a convention one time and it was fun, always wanted to get into it more - but you went ahead and did it! Coptic stitch is so cool looking, as well. Great job!

Thanks! This tutorial is excellent, as long as you take your time and do your prep-work, it'll turn out gorgeous: https://www.wikihow.com/Coptic-Bind-a-Book

definitely plot out and be slow while working with the glue and measuring.

Re: I bound a book!

Beautifully done! I do a little bookbinding, though I haven't tried Coptic yet.
I love the thought that inspired this project. Bind the book you wish to read in the world.

Re: I bound a book!

That's absolutely gorgeous. Great work, man.

Did you eventually tell your book "I bind you in the name of Jesus"?

...wait, are puns allowed?

I don't know how this works

Re: I bound a book!

I did not, but I should have.

Besides, "binding" anything "in Jesus' name" has so much unbiblical junk in it conceptually, it's *particularly* joke-worthy tongue
