I couldn't figure out which quote from Predator to include.

Yeah, I know what you mean but I think badass-wise, it's hard to beat the one I picked. He is a dude. Who is bleeding. He says he has no time to bleed, like it's nothing. Bad. Ass big_smile

How about-

Dirty Harry-'I know what you’re thinking. “Did he fire six shots or only five?” Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?'

Reservoir Dogs- Are you gonna bark all day little doggie, or are you gonna bite?

Man On Fire- Forgiveness is between them and God. It's my job to arrange the meeting

And you can't really get more badass than-

Predator- 'I ain’t got time to bleed' big_smile

There is an 'i' in Lassies, Owen. For that, I must take your 'honourary Scotsman' badge off you and you shall get booed at while folk wearing kilts throw haggis and tatties at your head. For shame!

I am a fan of film scores, I listen to them on their own but, while I don't think Zimmer is shite, I tend not to listen to his stuff much. He has done good scores in the past but a lot of his recent work just isn't really for me. Although,a  lot of modern film scores are a bit shite, sadly, I still give them a chance. Some are good but for re-listens, I often to back to older scores.

That's funny, because I just finished White House Down, which I really enjoyed. It's essentially identical to Die Hard with the location switched out, but who cares? I love Die Hard.

Both are 'Die Hard in the White House', aren't they? I actually like both but White House Down is more fun and less grim. Also, that scene in OHF with Melissa Leo getting beaten is pretty hard to watch. It's hard to have fun with films like that and the rest of the film is ridiculous, so you should have fun with it.

Ok, here's one- True Lies is a bit shit. It is racist, misogynistic rubbish with some admittedly good action but thoroughly unlikeable characters and a middle hour that is so boring, it borders on ridiculous. The first act and the finale are perfectly fine but holy shit that whole 'my wife is cheating on me, let's put her through Hell' storyline is atrocious.

Oh yeah, Penn & Teller. Everyone in the UK has heard of them. In fact, some of us grew up watching them on UK TV in the 90s because hardly anyone mainstream in the US would touch them. WE practically introduced them to the world. They still do shows over here these days too.

And BDA, that is not exactly what Faldor meant, if you watched the film, you would know smile

At the same time, though, parodies have an inherent respect for what they parody, at least most times. Again, look at Galaxy Quest. Look at any Star Wars parody ever made (well, of the OT). People who make parodies have a deep love and respect for what they parody, or they wouldn't bother. Epic Movie and its siblings excepted.

How this is possible I have no idea,

It's called 'paying homage'. Galaxy Quest is certainly a loving parody of Star Trek and its kin. A lot of fan films fall into this category too.

I love this film but I agree it could benefit from getting trimmed a teeny bit. The whole scene of bespectacled dude ripping his face off seems out of place and the film would be just as good without it. In fact, cut that scene out and there will be absolutely zero change. He leaves after it but the line 'Marty won't be coming back' is said after he sees the ghosts with everyone else, so the face ripping scene is pointless, he could just as easily flee after seeing the spooks. It would also change the UK rating from 15 to a 12 (the kids in peril bits would stop it from being a PG, I'm guessing).

Well, if my comments were opinions on film, that would be the case. Stating that BDA is not Admin, therefore people don't have to listen to him give orders is the truth*. It is also why I like to wind him up sometimes but it's all in good fun and BDA has taken it as such  smile

And if BDA was Admin and not just 'one of us', I'm sure people would care and actually listen to his orders and not just roll our eyes at his hissy fits.  tongue

I will say, about Adam Sandler, that he is an unfunny dude with an ego to match the size of his back balance. His films have become self-gratifying wank-fests for Sandler and his pals, even animated film Hotel Transylvania. Saying that, though, he wasn't always bad, he has made funny films in the past and I will always defend The Wedding Singer. His ego just got in the way.

I only ever watched Miracle Day which was shite. Been told so many times to watch the rest and especially (by Faldor) Children Of Earth.
