Hyperdrive got a reputation for being really bad which was a bit unfair it had some really funny moments. Not many but enough.

I just thought it was shit.

Black Books is fucking amazing. It kinda slipped out when everyone was lamenting the death of the sitcom. It just gets better as it goes along. Beautifully surreal in places.

This, I can agree with though. Black Books is great.

Hey, Faldor, we should do an EE show on sitcoms or do an episode on one particular sitcom and spend most of the time talking about other sitcoms!

It's been a number of years since I watched the show -- was this really an episode? I can kind of see it passing as one of the Treehouse of Horror vignettes but it sounds more like Carrie's mom having a fever dream.

I think they are describing two Treehouse of Horror vignettes from the same episode. It has been a while since I saw it but I think it is this-click for Wiki page

I like that the Archbishop has a rape whistle.

That is really impressive for the era. I have nothing else to add.

And Home Alone 2 is just the second film, but that doesn't make it right!  wink

But the whole point of the subtitle to a sequel is to tell you what this instalment is about. Lost In New York does that as that is what Kevin is. Just like he was Home Alone in the first. You are only counting the 'Home Alone 2' part which is wrong. Full title or nothin'  tongue

The Breakfast Club - No breakfast. No club.
Home Alone 2 - No one in this movie was ever home alone.

I don't know, should I? Should I be a smartarse dick? Oh sure-

The Breakfast Club refers to the fact that they are there in Saturday morning detention. And there is a group of them, hence 'club'.  The subtitle to Home Alone 2 is 'Lost In New York' which is what the actual story is. They just use Home Alone 2 because it's the second film.

I'm sorry, I am so so sorry big_smile

Back to the Future?
More like back to the present day, except I selfishly changed a bunch of stuff to improve my own life, to the detriment of others.

It is the future to 1955 Doc Brown, though and it is he who says the line to 1985 Marty. It makes perfect sense in that context smile

An actual one- Abbott and Costello Go To Mars. They don't, they go to Venus.

Because I'm awesome, duh! Not sure how that has anything to do with it, but I just thought it was important to point out.

Indeed, that was awesome.

Two points for memory.

Why, thank you smile

It actually happened at a bad point in my life with the loss of two family members and one close family friend around the same time. The Wanted live show cheered me up no end, it'll always be a special happy time during a bad patch in my life smile

Actually, the Wanted commentary came from the death of the Shawshank Redemption one. As far as I was aware, the Green Mile one was completed on the day and they moved on to do Shawshank but decided they could only do so much King/Darabont/Prison talk in a day. Mike recorded The Green Mile then exited but left his laptop behind so the others thought they'd wait to see if he turned back up to get it and if he'd ask why they weren't doing Shawshank as planned.

Good times.

The Trip (2010)
I enjoyed the ever-living shit out of this movie. It stars two of my favorite Brits, Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan on a road trip across England as they enjoy fine dining and witty banter.

It's also got a behind-the-scenes aspect to it where we as the audience get a peek into the personal lives of these two blokes. Except it's a fictionalized drama of their personal lives. But I think there's nonetheless a ring of truth to the serious scenes. You could call the movie a dramedy, but I hate that term and find it lacking for this particular film.

Highly recommended if you like food, good conversation, feels and laughing till it hurts.

8/10

I say this to everyone who has seen or plan on seeing this movie. Try to find the TV series instead. The movie is just a six part BBC 2 series cut down to feature length and while it is, obviously, funny, there is still over an hour of it out there. A second series of the show is in production right now....

24: Star Wars

(hopes for the future trilogy. Warning: Does Not Contain A Scottish Person)

Anyway, casting call time! Young Mr Ward and myself are recording a show soon of Hanna-Barbera and we have one or two spots open. It won't be for another few weeks as Owen is doing a bit of a re-watch of some cartoons. A general knowledge of the animation studio and a liking of their shows would be awesome. A good sounding microphone is essential.

No, she's right. Indy was not needed for the stuff to happen at the end. He just delayed it a little. The Nazis were going to die anyway, with or without Indy's help. The guys talk about this in the commentary that this is the thread for. smile

Fireproof-  that is fine, I understand that but what I am saying is- there is no debate to be had, it was a flippant remark, a tangent, something I have done many times before. If you engaged in a debate, I would not have responded. Well, a debate about God, I should add as we are obviously having some kind of debate. big_smile Also, I have been sarcastic and jokey throughout this entire conversation while still making my point. It could be going a lot worse.  smile

Oh, I lauhed at that Friends clip, Trey. I feel ashamed big_smile
