you think Coraline was good in terms of music, Go see Cowboys and Aliens.  The music in that is rather good IMO.

question: is it safe to assume that we can use the wonderland thing for all fantasy movies?

I've always been partial to the F-16.  My dad used to take me to air show all the time when I was younger an I loved looking at the F-16.  It's one of the most versatile aircraft ever made.

I also like the flexibility of the F-22.  It may be less maneuverable than the F-16, but it makes up for it in so many other ways.

nice macro of trey there teague.  This commentary was awesome!  I started watching the live show for this one just as they were about to start.  I believe there was some problem withe recording the after party, but man! it was a blast!  Funniest 3 hours of my life!  watching trey sing movie songs to the tune of "the times they are a changin' " was so funny.  And miki, is that tatoo somehow related to Zelda?

I've got an idea!  how bout we do a contest.  Everyone try to come up with the lyrics to a song about a movie written to a tune of any bob dylan song.  Teague gets to pick the best three and plays them during the third anniversary show!

yeah, i got a little carried away there.

I need to watch out for that...  you are correct though, the pro line of products will be around for quite a while.  I'm just wondering if the market share for the pro line, specifically mac pros, is shrinking.

I also hope we don't see Apple doing away with optical disc drives as the rumors say.

same here.  I don't see no reason to plop down 4k on a mac workstation if I'm not using FCP.  Avid and Adobe are on both platforms, and I believe Media 100 is as well.  There really is no other reason to get a mac pro anymore, if Apple is going to turn FCP into a prosumer app, then all you really need is a macbook or an iMac.  I really won't be surprised if they ditched the mac pro and macbook pro line of product...

have you guys seen the app score lately? 235 5-star reviews vs. 407 1-star reviews...  that pretty much says it all.

I've heard a lot of negative things through the grapevine about this since April, but all the reviews and commentary pretty much confirms my biggest fears.

I'll be learning Premiere Pro and Avid.  I've put it off for too long, but a tool is a tool.  The more tools you have in your box, the more flexible/valuable you will be.  Still, the tool isn't a substitute for the skill of editing a good story.

I work at a 2-man A/V department at a University, We still use tape and share projects over a server.  We still run FCS2.  I hope we switch to Premiere Pro soon since we do roundtrip to AE and PS a lot.

I first saw strange days back in 98 or 99 I believe.  But I must confess, I only saw it at the time to see Juliette Lewis' bewbs...  I was surprised to find that the flick itself was friggin' awesome!

so, what comes next?

You should have been there when i worked at Blockbuster.  We still had fullscreen DVDs back then and so many people would say that fullscreen was better than widescreen because it showed more of the picture on their TVs.  Im pretty sure everyones heard that one at least twice...

ever thought of doing Moulin Rouge?  It's sorta a musical, with one of the strongest opening sequences I've ever seen.

so how would we go about fixing the Earth section of the movie?  I think a good place to start woul be to put Thor in the body of Donald Blake like Odin did in the comic.  That way you can establish Jane as a compassionate nurse who cares for those less fortunate, again, like in the comic.

well, it's new to me.  Like i said, i just recently listened to it.  I should have added for the first time.  The argument is new to me and I didn't frequent the release thread when it first started.

But alright, we'll move on.

i thought the zombieland commentary was fine.  Not too nitpicky, but i also don't like the new guy.  he just didn't seem to have the same flow as the others.

And Brian, I only brought up the Star Trek commentary because I recently listened to it.  You had some valid points, and yes this newer one doesn't have the same vibe as the others.  But I don't think that that old vibe was what JJ was going for.  He explicitely stated that he wanted to make a Star Trek for everyone.

i'd be interested in seeing what Eddie has to say since he's sorta the comic guy of the group.  I was sorta a comic person when i was younger, but i never got into Thor.  Never got into Iron Man either, but i got what was going on in the first flick.  I think it'd be a good experiment for me to see this movie just to see how it works having no knowledge of the books.  It almost sounds like you need to have knowledge of Who Thor and all the other Characters are going in to this...

Hopefully Captain America isn't like that.

And i have to say, this was why I think I enjoyed Spider-Man when it first came out, i knew the character from the books for 10 plus years going in...

Daredevil though was abysmal! There only needed to be one majic bean in that flick to make it work!
