Yeah, Vermeer is a really odd guy. big_smile

No but seriously, listening back.. maybe we could have edited out thew hole "shit on balloon animals" segment. It got kinda... strange. Apologies, I blame it on Jetlag and nervoursness in prepratation for talking in front of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences the next morning.

Wow, this ended up funnier than I remembered it at the time. I was giggling throughout listening to it.

Love how you kept the Vermeer bit at the end too, makes it a vewy vewy nice ending....

Thanks Teague for the beer'n'a'taco thing. smile

What BUMS ME OUT is that I brought you that stupid CD I've promised you for Aeons, it was there, with me, in the room... but did I REMEMBER TO GIVE IT TO YOU!?!?! NO.

Teague, tried to text you, did it work?

My meeting moved earlier so I'll actually be available whenever you feel like it from around roughly 4-5PM or so...

I do have a Teague in my phone, and unless you changed it since 2010 it should work....

One detail, some time - undefined when - between e.g. 6PM and midnight.... I probably need to eat something smile Maybe we could do a post-recording (or pre-recording, either works for me!) trip to some "insert the local eating thing you want to subject poor zap to here", like e.g. in-and-out burgers or whatever wink

(Note: Freddie Wong already introduced me to Churros. LOL. No need to do that.)

But I'll touch base later today, mkay?

Is Trey on for an evening Dark Crystal evening tonight then? The movie isn't terribly long, so I don't think it will be that much of an ordeal. And the better you guys can keep me awake, well... the better big_smile

Yep - that should work. I have a meeting that is scheduled to end at 6PM (but I'm not sure It will go that long)...so maybe tentatively say 6.15 to be safer?

Apparently you guys are close, can someone swing by the Hotel and grab me?  smile

This will be fun. smile

That wasn't a self-serving confession. That was a calculated, cold-blooded move to break Jesse.

Really? I read that as Walt making sure it's Jessie that puts the bullet in him to put him out of his misery.... to activate him.... the same way Jane's death was to Activate Jessie...

My Wednesday is totally open right now. It exists for me to

a) Finish a powerpoint, reherse a presentation
b) Get in timzone sync

And for b) I need you guys help smile ... but also, due to Jetlag, the earlier we can start, the better, or I'll fall asleep.

Also, I'm very very very fine with "no drinking", I have quite important stuff to do Thursday smile

So I rewatched the pilot the other day, to see where this ride started. Does anyone recall what happened to the video tape walt records in the first few seconds? Where he tells his family he loves them and whatnot. If nothing was done to that in the series (I can't remember) I bet Skyler will find it after Walt is dead in Trey's explosion, or something?

However, the flash forward is very puzzeling to me.

You sound like you talk from experience smile

The Mystics were particularily back-breaking, having to do the head with one outstretched arm, and the hand with another. Lucky they had a walking-stick to lean on....

So I don't think you can define any movie more precisely than "all-puppet" since it's a pretty good bet that there's going to be a mix of puppet techniques on display.   We used rod puppets in Team America every chance we got, because marionettes are kind of a pain in the ass.  smile

Ok, whatever, wasn't the point. The point being... it's one of the few movies in a style where most people would be tempted to put in a human or two (e.g. "Labyrinth") but Henson didn't. And I'm happy for it....!

Okay? Better? smile

Though of course there are borderline shots (notably the one with Jen running from behind) that is clearly a child in a costume...

So.... are we doing this?

I don't want to inconveniate y'all. If you can't you can't. Just let me know sooner rather than later! smile

But Wednesday next week would be when I a) have (some) time and b) need to be kept awake smile . . . unless my schedule changes. Which... it may. Sadly.

Uhm, I know that technically marionettes are a subset of puppets, but isn't that a line from that movie you guys WAYDM'd a couple of weeks back? And wasn't Trey the one who said "I like that guy, he knows the difference"...?

Anyway, I should have been more specific that I didn't mean marionettes in my question, coz there are several marionette films. I was not referring to those.

"Meet the Feebles" still quality, though. I hadn't thought of that. Never seen it.

Team America and Meet the Feebles both qualify, I think.

There's also Strings, which I've heard of but never seen.

Trey, I was hoping not to have to use this line on you but... "Those aren't puppets, those are marionettes" smile

But I give you "meet the feebles".

A feature length film, with puppets... and not a single human being visible.

Is there another such movie?

At all?

Well, I cannot yet promise I won't be sucked into something else "official" instead. But... I think it won't hurt if you tried to rewatch it?

It's got .... a few puppets. smile

It may be on Netflix... (it's not on the Swedish Netflix tho).

But I have the DVD.

It was actually the 1st DVD I ever bought.

Before I even owned a DVD player. It was what caused me to buy a DVD player actually! smile

Okay, screw the beer. I don't like it anyway.

Mineral water is fine smile

So, let me float a retarded idea. Wednesday, whenever you have time (probably the evening, with me zoned out into Jet Lag land) ... we do a WAYDM for the "Dark Crystal"?

But only if Trey can, of course.

I've wanted Trey to do Dark Crystal since the dawn of DiF. It happens to be one of my favorite movies...

Just an idea!
