(sorry John, was doing the reverse pyschology/brair patch thing)
Speaking of minstrel, there's a deleted scene for this movie that deals with an "African" (Earth Bender) tribe dancing around, seriously.
Pavlich hears dead people.
This should be fun.
It's just sad how far M. Night has fallen as a director. How someone could fuck up such a great show (the material is right there, the dialogue, everything), and someone who claimed he, or at least his kids, was a fan.
The biggest problem really, for me, was that the movie was humorless. The show was quite funny.
I liked Red State, but get the criticisms.
And Smith did edit it while shooting; you're right on about that, though I actually liked the editing in this.
I don't think you guys have done a Coen Bros. film?
Sup?
Also, how about some more (Pan's Labyrinth the only one?) foreign films? Let the Right One In, for example, La Femme Nikita.
Oh, and Heathers
The Graduate
Some Kevin Smith?
Then John, please don't do anymore Couch Surfing episodes. If you do anything, please don't do anymore of those.
The "people send in art work" idea reminded me of a Casey Lebow CSI NY episode (s5e07) where she (iirc) played someone who collected peoples secrets, sent to her in postcard sized, which she put on her walls (see pix)
I remember that episode, but FSM help me for once watching CSI: NY
Haven't listened to this one yet, but I'm hooked on these intermission episodes, listened to about 6 in a row the other night.

Keep them coming guys.
Was happy to hear you guys, considering you guys seem to really like science (and detailed science) forgive some of the stuff in this movie. I think it was Brian that made the point, that if you have true characters and a good story, you just accept the magic bean and move on, great point.
And I never really thought about the whole "Biff was an attempted rapist of my now wife and now I'm employing him" thing. Maybe Biff should've been the bum on the bench, at the end (replacing the original, timey whimey explanation).
And I think it's fun to know how old people are when they see things. I was 10 when I saw BTTF (in theaters, born in '75), a great age to see it.
Please eventually do Part II & III (nice idea about Part II being the final chapter btw)
Edit: About what was thought in '89 about the future: I doubt many actually thought there would be flying cars in the "near" future. I also like the aesthetic of 2015 in BTTF2's future.
But I never bought that the Cubs would win the World Series by then. Absurd.
And sorry, but Delorean's really are shit cars (at least the engines). They really don't go fast.
I'd still want one though
Atheists give the best Xmas presents!
Is it a coincidence you guys post this right before Plinkett posts his review? Hmm?
Nope, it's a conspiracy. (I've said too much)
I read an Indiana Jones novel (when I was a teenager) and it was about the search for Noah's Arc, even that would've been better (well maybe)
I like the Atlantis idea though.
Edit: It's nice to know that as a younger man, even I knew about tropes. My friend and I used to call it "bad guy shooting school" for the stormtrooper bad aim, bad guy marksmanship thing.
Late Edit: I never got she blew it up with her mind either, but I guess I don't remember much about the film.
How about two old guys being tossed like rag dolls, over waterfalls with no injuries?
The Real World: Tron
This is the true story (true story) of one user picked to live in a grid and have his life taped to find out what happens when Clu stops being polite and the user starts getting real.
For serious, I thought Tron was just okay, but reallyu like Legacy, but don't disagree with the criticisms on the commentary. It's a weird one, I guess.
I guess Olivia Wilde (goddamn those eyes) cast a spell on many of us.
Dushku was Faith. I love Faith. I love Dushku. It's science.
Can I make a confession that I've never read a Stephen King novel? I confess.
I also just watched this film for the first time last year (for Kubrick not King) and really liked it, but I don't really need to see it again. I'm only doing that now (bit of a break as I type) for this commentary, which is great btw.
They should make a rum called "murdeR" :P
And really I'm posting now to point out the Doctor Who Weeping Angels thing, but someone beat me to it. :)
David Lynch (not a huge fan), to be somewhat fair, directed The Straight t Story. He doesn't always have to be weird. And Twin Peaks, though weird, was pretty fucking cool.
Oh and loved the conspiracy rants, death to post-modernism :)
Love it, but sadly don't own it and it's not on Red Envelope Instant
Someone better get molested during this commentary.
The small town talk was funny. We would "cruise" which would end by circling the Sonic parking lot, and that was fun. Grew up in TN.
And I got your Dushku lovin' back Pavlich (And Castle is still a solid, and sometimes quite charming procedural, mostly due to Fillion)
Fun commentary, and great timing. I was going to rewatch Slither this Cocktober anyway.
Also have been to NYC and found the people delightful, despite the reputation.
They do talk funny though (Southern irony)
I'm saying it before you perhaps do this one, but not as good as Death Proof, and yes I'm serious.
Mind the Gap
If you go to any country, go to England, so fantastic.
"White Lines" is a Duran Duran song, I'm assuming sampled by Funk Master Flash.
The more I watch Kill Bill's, the more I like Vol. 2, although I still prefer Vol. 1.
Pavlich I agree about the end scene being some of the best Tarantino dialogue. That scene really makes Vol. 2 for me; it's so good.
Thanks for doing these, hope for some Jackie Brown, Death Proof (I'm an apologist) and Basterds commentary, though from comments, Basterds hate, for shame
Just getting to this one
I love that you guys are skeptics, don't you think Hollywood doesn't know, even good Hollywood (Darabont), what skeptism really is, that they think it's just doubt and cynicism? It annoys me. Brauer's character could've been great, and they still could've killed him off I guess, just with a little more acceptance beforehand.
I just watched this film for the first time a few weeks ago and really liked it, even though I was spoiled (the ending). I wish I'd avoided spoilers but, it didn't ruin it.
Edit: Frances Sternhagen was Cliff Clavin's mom
Am listening now (enjoying), and find it funny that you guys open saying how this movie isn't that hard to understand, yet the rest is you guys explaining things to each other, that you guys don't understand!
Of course, I blame Nolan for that, not you, but it's funny.
Edit: Whoever in the chatroom that said Top Gear is rubbish, is a wanker. (unless you were talking about the US version, then yes)
Just catching up to this one, and it was a fun one to listen to.
Jackson, TN represent (grew up there)
Born in '87 is damn young, dammit (I'm old, jealous).
Sorkin fanboy here, love it.
Edit: You guys know The Brady Bunch, but not Itzhak Perlman? (dude who uses crutches). Shame
