Thanks for the update guys - I just bought the DVD & listened to the commentary. I'm eager to hear how the DiF brain-trust feels. I very much enjoy the film, but I don't think it's quite as complex as everyone (including Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Reilly & Duncan Jones on the commentary) make it out to be.

..Maybe I've just seen/read too many time travel / parallel universe stories..

I know it was done, but I wasn't around for it -- was that file eaten by a grue?

b-b-b-but without DiF I might have to ....talk to my in-laws....  neutral

Aw well, I guess that's why the good folks at Sam Adams brew their lovely beverages.
Enjoy the Food, Family & Football guys (Or the Pumpkin Chunkin' for those (like me) of a geekier persuasion.

...but I don't think you were asking me...

I'm not sure how to say this without sounding like a dick, so I'll just say it....

Before I realized what movie it was I wouldn't have thought it was an Asylum movie.
What I'm trying to say is that it looked pretty good - the last 15 minutes or so really falls apart, but I've listened to the commentary for it so that doesn't need explanation.

BTW, I'm not ragging on Asylum I fully understand their business model and that the people working on the projects are on short leashes with little to know money or time.

I just spotted this on SyFy this morning and thought....THAT'S not Ethan Hawke....

My wife just walked in as I was uploading the photo and she said, "Is that Tom Cruise on the left - I didn't know he was in Moby Dick."

Teague, thanks for posting that little lesson on music theory.
A little background on me, the last musical instrument I played was the trumpet in 5th grade.
Since then my nearest attempt at making music is drunken karaoke and Rock Band 2.
I'm also a huge fan of the Tron Legacy score, and I was definitely siding with the "Teague is full of it" crowd

All that aside, the video really did help me understand where you're coming from and agree that it is a simplistic in terms of the structure. I can definitely see how someone with a knowledge of music theory could look at it and think this score is terrific, but it could've been even better.

Well Done, but we still disagree on Zombieland.  big_smile

It's not the first time I've seen the film by a long shot - still, I thought Trey would like to know.
(Assuming he doesn't feel when someone is watching Tombstone.)

I went into this film thinking it was the 5th sequel to Apollo 13.
I was hoping to see if Jay Lovell would follow in his father's footsteps and venture toward the stars.

Instead I got, spoiler: (moon crabs. FUCKING MOON CRABS)

I assume no one on this board was foolish enough to see Apollo 18.
I knew better, and I saw it anyway. I don't know what that says about me.

Lastly, this is a special note to Brian.
Don't see this film. It will physically damage a person with such strong feelings about manned space flight.

Does anyone use the Justin.tv app for the iPhone, and if so, is the DiF live show available on it?
I only ask because the App is $10...

My laptop is basically dead, I can get it working but it takes a lot of effort & I have to hook it up to my TV, it also forces my wife to listen to DiF...which isn't always appreciated.

I'm watching The Shawshank Redemption, and I got a crazy idea.

Edit it so that Red's parole is APPROVED at the opening scene, then edit him out if the entire movie. Call it, The Hawshank Damnation: Hopeless Edition.
I'm up to the point where Brooks gets released & cutting out Red & his voice overs would be easy.

Sadly, I have no video editing software, nor do I know how to use it.

I've always been partial to the F-16.  My dad used to take me to air show all the time when I was younger an I loved looking at the F-16.  It's one of the most versatile aircraft ever made.

I also like the flexibility of the F-22.  It may be less maneuverable than the F-16, but it makes up for it in so many other ways.

F-16's are up there for me too; I grew up with Iron Eagle.

"These are F-16C's 'Coop!"

Granted, that's from the sequel, but still.

Also, F-14s, care of Top Gun.

Iron Eagle has the greatest montage to feature a Twisted Sister song in all of film history.

Haven't listened to it yet. But why did you Americans rename it?

With all due respect Redxavier, we don't have to justify our renaming of a book title to anyone that spells color with a "u".  Just be happy the Dursleys weren't renamed the Thompsons and relocated to Ohio.

There is no DiF this weekend, right?
I thought I remembered Teague saying something to that effect during the show last week, but it might have been an alcohol induced delusion.

Note:  the C-119 is a less-preferred but acceptable substitute.

Trey, you may want to rethink your choice.

I also hope this season contains the inevitable scene where Hank realizes that Walt is Heisenberg. I cannot wait for the shit to hit the fan with that revelation.

I thought he would've figured it out before a few times. Hank is a character I HATED in season 1. I couldn't believe how much I sympathized with him in Season 3, I even said to my wife, "Hank doesn't deserve this.".
