I think I've used up my alloted "is one happening this weekend" asks, so can someone else do it ? Please excuse this if your place has been wrecked apart by a giant tornado, I've been cleaning my gun collection and not been listening to the news.

re: selecting the weekends films

Do you wake up Sat morning and think wouldn't it be cool to do these ones, or do you have a big list of to-dos and are working your way through them ?

I ask because (for me) between the Saturday "we're doing this" reveal and the Sunday "welcome welcome to DIF..." there isn't much time to locate and watch/rewatch the films. So, if there is a big list, have you considered releasing it so forthcoming movies could be watched in the preceding week ? Even if this list is a "coming sometime" one rather than an etched in stone diary type of affair, it would be handy - watching things a few weeks in advance preferable to cramming 2 in on Saturday and falling asleep during the next days analysis.

if dancing = sex/rape, then how does that work when BD was dancing on the table of the kitchen, cos when they cut back from the fantasy world they cut back to her dancing on the table ?

Hopefully not many people from England will miss the first hour cos we've just had the clocks turned back  and iiuc you don't do that in America (or at least not yet).

I thought you guys weren't gonna do Ironman 2 due to Ryan's pretty much defacto video on the subject?

^so that's why I was so certain DIF had already DIFed I2. I searched the archive but couldn't find it so thought my mind was playing tricks on me.  roll

hopefully they'll do this one after Tron  smile rather than before it, cos usually whenever there's a double helping I fall asleep shortly into No2.  sad

A movie that didn't need remaking/rebooting/reimaging was Friday the 13th.  mad

They were just 2 movies away from a guaranteed money feast of a sequel -> Friday the 13th part 13 (to be released on Friday 13th, September, 2013), and what did they decide to do - take us back to the beginning and start again. Why o why o why would they do that ?????  roll

Maybe the wrong place, but if you're going to let ??? bring in his copy of Terra Nova ep1 and give him the control of the remote and then proceed with a "omg how could they get this soooo wrong" sesh then methinks that would be kinda cool. - though would it fit in the Intermission 30mins ?

Maybe you could carry on the idea with others in the team (who's names I'm sure I'll remember one day) bringing in their own choices of tv-progs (though this being DownInFront are you solely concerned with movies, tv-progs being a whole different "ball-game" with their writing / filming etcs and thus not in your remit?)

literally ???    tongue

but thanx for reinforcing(?) the correctness of my decision - spitting in peoples faces / peoples face is just icky.  mad

I think I've listened to pretty much them all (incl a few live ones after finally working out the English / USA time conversion thingie), but one commentary I won't be listening to is UHF (that recent Wild Al thing). Not cos I don't want my view of the film shattered by the panel, but because the trailer has one of the kids spitting on the star. While I have no problem with graphic violence and foul language (rock on), the whole phlegm(?) in the face thing really grosses me out, and thus turn me off from watching the movie. Although iirc both Planet Terror and Showgirls having such scenes and I'd watch those again, so i guess I just one big o'hyprocrite.(?)  roll
