I reckoned WB and Snyder would go with an unknown, like Cavill. Certainly someone with less baggage.

Ditto. I was expecting a no-name who was on two episodes of Buffy or something.

Not being distractingly bad *should* be important to the role, yes.

EDIT: Not that any of this matters anyway. It's a stupid movie. Just... what a weird choice.

Are choo guys on crack? There's plenty of evidence that Ben is a terrible actor. Tons. He's a fine director but we have almost two decades of acting we can point to and say, "he sucks." This is NOT Heath Ledger. No one questioned whether or not Heath could act.

Melancholia. I hate that film. I get exhausted just thinking about the effort it would take to properly explain why.

*edit - if anyone is reading this in 2021, I actually love it now lol*

I already have an outline, Kyle. Let's do this.

My reaction is almost exactly Dorkman's. Everything was going great until we got to the action. At which point it became generic, video game, and, for god's sake, can this be the last alien superhero fight in front of 7-11 in the middle of nowhere for a while? I'm on record as deeply disliking Snyder's style, but even I was surprised by how boring the fights were. And equally surprised by how good the non-action bits were.

And I don't know why they bothered filming in Chicago. The city was plastered with CGI. They should have saved some money and shot in Detroit.

*EDIT* And I really like the score.. even if it wore on my nerves after 2 hours of looping that 45 second bit from the trailer.

I'm totally getting all of those references. Totally and completely getting them. Feels so good. The internet is a much less confusing place now.

OMGMARATHONYES.

I finished the Harry Potter book series recently. Those things. OMG. The best. And I just listened to the commentary (I wouldn't worry about spoilers in the commentaries; I'm probably not alone in avoiding the commentary before finishing the books - presuming I wasn't the only person on Earth to have not read them - in fact the commentary felt stunted because you avoided interesting avenues of conversation, so don't do that... this has been a really long parenthetical).

I doubt any of you want to do all of the films but I'd love to hear you do every other entry.

Game of Thrones, I'm going to take back some of the things I've said about you. You... you've earned it.

Holy crap that episode. Probably the most shocking moment in TV history. I had no idea or warning that that was coming.

That could be a good Intermission topic, Trey. Movies that would never be greenlit today and the "how did this happens."

I'm biased towards Press Play, but Fix It In Post is amazing. It sums up everything DiF does.  Also, Hang the Lantern.

I think the official name should be The Intermission with a new subtitle by Kyle every week.

If The Intermission is available, hell yeah. I just assumed it wasn't.

Allow me to make a case against Friends in Your Head... Sounds like a mental health podcast and/or a psycho killer's podcast. Either way derangement is involved. Great tagline, terrible title.

Stencil for sure. The problem is that on the predominantly yellow areas the undercoat is green. On the silhouette the undercoat is yellow. So my three big ideas for solving it are:

On the silhouette apply a base of yellow, apply character in a coat of green on top. Then let the green dry for 90 or so minutes and then apply irregular strips of packing tape and rip off. Maybe it will take enough off to simulate age.

Another idea is to take a sponge and dab yellow onto the green. But this sounds like something someone with talent should do. Not me.

A third idea is to base yellow, character in green, and then lightly sand off sections of green.

If none of this works it's gonna be a Bieber poster. It's all in the second bedroom anyway. So it will be my guests' problem. Not mine.
