Instead of bitching about it, look up. I took both. Now continue instead
On the contrary, most people DO.
Top five subjects -- academic, pop cultural, whatever -- you'd like to be a geek about, but don't know enough to claim the title.
1. Stem cells.
2. Cloning
3. Aviation/avionics
4. Wormhole theoretics
5. 3DTV Technology
Yeah, it's pretty diverse.
top 5 memorable lines from 80's action movies.
1. I know(you know where it's from)
2. Yippie ka-yay, melon farmer
3. That wasn't so bad, was it?
4. I'm about to kick ass and chew bubblegum. And I'm all out of gum.
5. I'm sure that in 1985 plutonium is available in every corner drugstore, but in 1955 it's a little hard to come by.
Top 5 reasons to START drinking.
I agree with some points here. I don't want to go into excruciating detail, but yeah, like Gregory, I'm betting they will do it right. I'm not claiming they'll remaster the OT again in higher resolution, but I'm willing to go as far as saying they will do the best job they can with the conversion. Sure, I've heard that most films you(Dorkman) brought up looked terrible in 3D, which is why I opted out of watching them that way, but Harbin's right. They're announcing it now(or a few months back), and that it won't be ready until 2012.
We've no guarantee that they're not rushing all 6 films, releasing them on an annual basis nonetheless, but I'd like to think there's a tiny spark of hope in Lucas, and I trust him to do the best conversion possible.
That being said, I'll gladly eat those words in 2012, or, if we ever get to it; 2013.
I liked Moon. It had me interested from start to finish. I reacted a bit towards the clones, but towards the end, they didn't bother me at all, really.
The prequel trilogy still works for me, sans AotC, which never worked for me. I was a kid at the time, thus I liked them. And like you, Sparrow, I'm a kid at heart for Star Wars.
Dorkman: I've not seen any of the films you mention, and I know that films being converted is not particularly great done, but this is still Star Wars. Yes, I'm adding to the archetype you just described, and I'm okay with that.
This IS, however, for me, and lots of others, about the pod race and trench run. If they do it right, it will look awesome, and will be a great experience. I won't rain on Lucas' parade until I've seen them first hand.
Please YES. And let me tell you why. Not only am I actually happy for this, I'm THRILLED. I'm one of the people just the right age to have seen all 6(7 if you count the clone wars movie) films on the cinemas. I was flabbergasted when I heard IV, V and VI were being re-released. And yeah, I loved the additions. Why? I was 11 years old, dammit. I loved the phantom menace, like teague, and still do. In fact, the only film I DISLIKE, is AOTC.
Anyways, here's why I think the series will work in 3D.
TPM
Pod Race. Georgie will no doubt add the deleted scenes into the film, to make the 3D gimmick more.. well, gimmicky.
AOTC
The speeder chase, from the very second obi-wan leaps through the window, to where Anakin falls down outside the club.
Geonosis. Watching Jedi fall over ledges in 3D will look awesome, and you know it.
ROTS
The goddamned opening. Not only is it full of action, but the sequence itself is like made for 3D.
End battle. Sure, Yoda should never have had a lightsaber, but watching the senate hall being thrown AT you will rock. Also, the lava bursts will add intensity to the fight between Ani and Obi-wan.
ANH
Death star trench, anyone? Also, watching the death star emerge as not being a moon will be awesome.
ESB
Dagobah. Adding depth to the forest will kick you ass.
Lets not forget Bespin either. Luke falling down will have more of an impact this time around, even if they decide to make a 3D version of Hamill.
And of course, watching the AT-AT come at you will be king.
ROTJ
Speeder chase and the goddamned end battle. Remember how intense it actually is as is? It'll be GREAT in 3D.
Now, I understand that some parts will just be weird, and maybe even eye gouging, but the majority of the action sets WILL be cool to watch.
I'm not saying the FILMS will be better, but the experience WILL be cool, and y'all fucking know it. Stop the bitching. George will add new stuff, without a doubt, but you WILL enjoy the experience, if nothing else.
5. Jar Jar Binks Statue
4. Davros
3. Dalek(any Dalek, really)
2. Stephen King's IT.
1. TARDIS.
I'm also assuming 'shitting your pants' doesn't necessarily mean from fright.

Top 5 excuses to not attend school today. True or fictional.
I'm actually not gonna answer this. I'm gonna let someone way older jump in and make it that much more epic than I could.
I went to see 'The Runaways' instead, so I'm biased. We *almost* regretted the choice when the Robin Hood trailer came on, but I'm still happy I saw runaways instead.
I'll still check out the film, but if it's not even grasping your attention after 20 minutes, something's wrong.
Fellatio. Wiki Fellatio. Seriously.
Alright, your points are valid. However, as for overdosing on pot, I believe it is possible, if not plausible. I read, ages ago, back in my pot days, and I can't really back this up, since I can't locate the source, that you need to consume 150 grams(or like 5 oz) of pot within 12 hours to OD. Obviously though, this is nigh-impossible, seeing as you'd simply fall asleep after a fraction of the amount.
As for cannabis being addictive, I can't go out on a limb and contradict you by saying it IS physical, but as you know(see what I did there?) what affects the psyche, will affect your physique. Thus, if you're psychically addicted, it will have its toll on your body. I'm not saying you're wrong in any way, I'm just saying when I quit, I had withdrawal sickness for a couple of days. I won't go into detail on how much I used to do, or for how long, but I did suffer when I quit.
I still endorse legalization, though. I don't regret what I did. Hell, we had fun, stayed indoors and bothered noone. Except my ever-so-clever landlord with the smell.
He never got what it was, though
EDIT: Did some google browsing on whether or not anyone has ever died from pot. Seems you're entirely right. I still stand by my statement, but if I find proof that you simply CAN'T die, I'll stand corrected.
If cali goes ahead and legalizes, it'll be a step in the right direction, I think. I'm not even remotely close to CA, nor do I live in a place that is alright with weed, but that's never stopped anyone.
It IS insane how alcohol is legal and cannabis not. I mean, this will will sound repeating, but, pot smokers don't go out fighting people, hurling at private/public properties, peeing in your back-alley, singing out loud till late at night orfuck as many as they can in one night for sport.
Pot smokers sit mostly in their home, locking their door, getting high, laughing and eating a lot. I've never seen how this is a problem.
Fun fact(Or at least this is what I've heard): Pot can't kill you unless you *REALLY* want it to. Alcohol can kill you if you'reunlucky, and/or just a bit too hard on it.
I say most of this based on personal experience. I've never, or know anyone who's died from neither, nor been in the hospital, but I've had my fair share of both substances over the years. When I drink, I can be quite the asshole(but I don't Teague it and fall asleep), but when I'm high/stoned, I watch films, play games and eat. And have a laugh.
Sure, cannabis is addictive, but not much more so than nicotine. Alcohol is also addictive, but unless your will power is thru the floor, you'll do just fine.
It's kinda like when TCW came out on cinemas. Regardless of how much it'd suck, I still went to see it.
This, however, could be kinda cool. Downloading right now.
You mean like the Wachowskis?
1. Eiffel 65 Album(can't remember the name, but the single was 'blue(da ba dee)'
2. Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory. I later came to love LP, but I bought it for 'in the end'.
3. Bomfunk MC's - In stereo. I loved 'freestyler'. The rest kinda sucked.
4. Chumbawamba - Tubthumper. I GET KNOCKED DOWN AND I GET UP AGAIN!
5. 30 Seconds to Mars - A beautiful lie. Fell in love with 'the kill', and now I love the entire album.
Top 5 films you've bought just for the cover. (this could be insanely hot chicks, epic paintings, retro-styled covers etc. You get the idea.)
I'm good, but in the future, I'll keep it in mind. For now, 'Vidina' tends to be more widely known than my actual name.
Doesn't "The Expendables" cover all 5?
1. All the movies projecting the image on the actors' face. (Hackers, for instance)
2. The matrix. Neo types ctrl-x to close the program. When did 'cut' kill an application?
3. Tron, for sucking people into it. Let's face it, it made a mistake sucking Flynn in there.
4. Jurassic Park, for the quicktime file. It's not an impossible fix, even for '93.
5. All the films featuring not-even-close-to-fiction Operating Systems, with flashy animations, colors, sounds and whatnots.
Honorary mention goes to Matrix reloaded, for using NMap, an actual thing. See?
Next up: Apple products of all time. That's right, I went there.
I'll do my best.
1. Saw
2. World's greatest dad
3. Primer
4. Clerks
5. To Know A Jedi
Next up: Top 5 near-death experiences! (first or second hand are allowed)
(EDIT: Typos. I even skimmed it prior to posting it, dammit.)
And you deem US unworthy? Dude.
I vote for altering ALL Chuck Norris jokes to Trey Stokes jokes.
...like '9 songs'?
