Does anyone have any wiki experience at all? Any experience with infoboxes? Because I've been trying for hours to create one for the episode pages and I'm floundering.

Make an account on the wiki for editing and you can do whatever you want with your user page.

I can't get enough of Citation Needed, so it's sad that they only did 9 episodes. Each one is gold, though. It's a sketch-comedy podcast with all the skits based on entries at Citation Needed, a website which collects the most hilariously bad Wikipedia entries. As a bonus, many skits feature the cast of MST3K, as the creator of the site is a writer at Rifftrax.

I have spent most of the day typing out all the pause/unpause points for every commentary. It is 3 and a half pages long on Word therefore it is too big to post on here. I don't know why I did it, but it is done.

Perfect!!! That's going to be very very useful. If I ever figure out how to set up an infobox template, that is...

I made a page for Teague, Brian, Dorkman, Trey, Eddie, and Ryan using the paragraphs on the About page. I'd like to make them a bit more official-looking, though, so panelists are encouraged to share information about themselves on the pages.

I just spent a couple hours compiling a full list of every commentary, with every episode redlinked and ready for a page! Start claiming 'em, and we can start this adventure!

I'm going to do a list of every Intermission tomorrow.

Also in UHF, I recall.

So, this is a thing now. A for-real thing. Teague has declared me Wiki President, so I'm officially coordinating an effort to get this thing started. I think it can be really cool and useful if we all work together to make it so.

[EDIT: Mission 1]

Basically, I'm imagining a Project Halp-like scenario. We all take a chunk of episodes (oh god, there are so many more now) and compile Wiki-relevant information for them. Here's how I'm imagining each episode page:

- An intro paragraph describing basic info on the episode at hand, probably incorporating Teague's quote about the episode from the DiF main page. A few sentences describing the panel's opinion on the movie.

- A sidebar with the album artwork from that episode. Also included: date released, runtime, pause-unpause point, other similar details

- A section listing each panelist appearing on that episode.

- Main section: Brief descriptions of major points discussed by the panelists in the episode. E.g. "Joss Whedon's skills as a writer are discussed, as well as various themes running throughout his work," or, "Brian and Dorkman argue about the sexualization of women in mainstream action movies and comic books." If you've ever found yourself thinking, "What episode did they talk about that in?" this is the solution. Maybe eventually, this can be turned into episode transcripts, but that's going to be an epic journey in and of itself.

- Quotation section: Between Zarban and Project Halp, most of the episodes have great quotes already pulled. There are, however, plenty of new ones which have not.

- Notable/fun facts: "This episode was the first to feature the chatroom," "This was the first Ryan episode," "This is the longest episode to date."

There can also be redirect pages for every panelist, so you can see links to pages for every Eddie episode, etc. Every panelist will have a page about them, too.

That's a very, very basic outline. This will be a massive undertaking, much bigger than Project Halp. However, I think it will be very useful to everyone who listens to the podcast. If you're an old timer, it can serve as a useful archive for finding your favorite episodes and moments. For newcomers, it's a great resource for discovering what makes this podcast great. Does anyone else have any ideas for what they'd like to see this wiki used for?

EDIT: Hey, people are already getting started! I'm going to finish up some work, and then get cracking on this thing. You don't need permission to start editing! But I do reserve the right to change whatever you write. However, you reserve the right to change it back. Then we both mutually reserve the right to argue about it until neither of us care anymore.

WIKI PRESIDENT OUT.

Nice! I'll try and write an example episode page in the next few days.

Plus, she has a hurt leg, doesn't she?

Yeah, she was pinned down by rubble a second before. I'm willing to concede that her performance in Iron Man 2 isn't very good, but I actually thought she pulled it off in Avengers. The scene where she fakes out Loki is one of my favorite moments in the film.

Hmm. I'll look into it. I certainly have nothing better to do with my free time. I'm not sure how to set one up successfully, but I'll do my best to learn.

EDIT: After some brief searching, I've lost confidence in my ability to successfully start up a wiki. However, I'm very interested in this project. Does anyone else have the know-how to get it off the ground?

Actually, a DiF wiki could be really useful. And you've got tons of people to help edit entries. The work wouldn't be all that different from Project Halp.

You would have a page for each episode, a list of participants, maybe a few bullet points about discussions had in the episode, and then a quotations section. Maybe somewhere down the line you could introduce episode transcripts, so that I could search and find in which episode a certain movie was mentioned, or a person was brought up.

I mean, it's a massive undertaking, considering the sheer volume of DiF content. But I think it would be really cool.

Stop making me want to see it. I have a longstanding "don't pay for Twilight" rule, and I'm not about to break it, no matter how hilariously awful it looks.

I'm starting a petition for some foreign language films! For starters, I bet you guys would have a lot to say about Rashomon.

Well, I think we've all learned something from this thread. Namely that everyone is stupid and has no taste.

I just watched Moonrise Kingdom and I loved it. The kids playing the leads do a phenomenal job with tough characters. I wasn't sure about them at first, but once we learn more about who they are and how their relationship developed, I fell in love with both of them, and I was totally sold on the movie.

Actually, I could say that about pretty much every actor in the movie. For the first half-hour, everyone seems a little bit off, but once you acclimate to the style of the film, everything falls into place. Moonrise Kingdom is a surprisingly intricate little film, given how simple the story seems. It might take me a little while to riddle out all the thematic points it's hitting.

On that note, here's Damon Lindelof's draft, titled "Paradise." It's...not very good.

If by scale you mean, "How many zombie can we put in a giant pile?"....I hope not.

I definitely think there's a place for a zombie story that happens on a global scale (As the success of the novel, and hype for the movie shows I think). This is just so NOT the way to do it.

I totally agree. We won't know for sure until the movie comes out, but World War Z just looks so damn silly. I have a hunch that audiences will agree.

Honestly, will people care about a zombie film on such a massive scale? If the success of The Walking Dead is any indication, people like their zombies with grim character drama, not big 'splosions and movie stars.

11. EVERYONE ELSE IS STUPID.

At least, that's what the internet taught me.
