Isn't there supposed to be a new question in here somewhere?
To be fair, it was you who went off course by questioning BDA's question

The best World War II film is this-
Ok, maybe not. The poster looks like something from The Thing.....
Yep, I'm pretty sure I fell a tiny bit in love with her by the end of it.
I've been in love with her for a while now, she's awesome
That voice actor video made my fucking day. So bloody awesome. I heart Tara Strong so much (I love them all, but Tara is prettier )

I hate 3D with a passion.
I don't hate 3D, I just find it every 'meh'. It does nothing for me in the least.
There's a Red Dawn Remake? With (N) Koreans instead of Soviets?

Oh, yeah, that's been kicking about for years. It was one of the films that got shelved when MGM went kaput, along with Cabin in the Woods. Both of those films star Chris Hemsworth who probably thought his US career was cursed until he got Thor.
To be fair, though, the original Hancock script was different from the film we got. It was a darker R rated flick that got diluted and changed to PG-13 as they went along.
I saw The Raid at the cinema today.
I like The Raid.
Of course the real hero of the film is Mark Ruffalo's agent for getting him third billing considering he was making his debut to the franchise.
As soon as the credits rolled on this movie, and Fortunate Son starting blasting out of the speakers, I turned to my friend Sarah and said, "Hey, isn't this an anti-war song?" There was a pause, and she said, "This movie is fucking terrible."
It's an anti-draft song, yeah. And after watching that Peter Berg interview where he asks the dude if he's a draft dodger, it makes it all the more funny. Surely they meant the song to be ironic? They had to have meant it to be ironic! It's like a US President using 'Born In The USA' as a theme song.
Oh, wait......
From what I remember from the live show, this discussion peters out at the end because, well, Battleship sucks.
I'll listen to the podcast, though, because I barely remember what was said (it was very late, I was half asleep )
That's like asking 'bullet through the eye or bullet to the crotch'
Oh and This Means War. It has Tom Hardy.
Jingle All The Way is one of the worst films ever made.
Zarban, what do you think of Commando?
I think Alien Nation would also be good for that
Just watch the guy
EDIT: 800th post, hooray!
Can never forget Dolph, the man is awesome.
Oh, I know. And I agree, I was just contributing to the conversation
Yeah, that was good but not a typical Van Damme film, so I didn't include it. If he acted like that in more of his films, Van Damme's rep would be pretty different today.
I'll include this here as this is a popular Avengers thread at the moment. The DVD/Blu will be released in September (August for France) with the following extras-

I know what I'm asking for, for my birthday in October. Full details and photos here- http://collider.com/the-avengers-blu-ra … ls/167342/
Seagal has only directed one film Also, he doesn't even appear in his films any more, it's usually a double. He even has someone else do his ADR for him most of the time
He created a tv show, True Justice, and wrote most of the episodes but watch this clip (it's short) he isn't even in the same room as his co-stars. If you look closely, his body double is the one who runs past them-
Maybe that's not the best example but it was the shortest clip, I could find and didn't want to inflict too much pain on people. I'll admit, I do enjoy early Seagal films (Out For Justice, Marked For Death etc) and early Van Damme stuff (Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Timecop etc) but never bother with their newer stuff. They just don't have 'it' any more. I agree with Zarban, though, Arnie knew how to pick scripts that suited him best. I would rather watch Commando and Predator than any of SS or JCVD's flicks. Oh, and 'interesting' fact: George Takei appears in an episode of True Justice.
I would like to see it in the next film
Ok, I think things have to be clarified here. I didn't say I did not want to see it happen. And I didn't say you said you wanted Cap to inherit Thor's powers. Plus, just going by the films, I prefer Captain America to Thor (both the films and the characters).
Now, I get that there are nods to the comics all over the film I just think that it would have been a bit much as the average Joe may not get it. Things like the Hulk spitting the bullet out is subtle enough that it doesn't matter it's from one of the comics. Going by what has already happened in the film series, Cap getting the Hammer may not have worked. I think it would have been pointless. The fact that Captain America is completely a good guy is in the movie already, we don't need to see the Hammer 'chose' him. That's just my opinion on it as a non-comic book reader.
If I won the lottery, I'd give them money towards finishing it off.
switch wrote:i don't remember seeing a suggestion for Big Trouble in Little China, but i say do it. So many great set-ups in that movie! Besides, you need to do more Carpenter material.
I think I suggested it waaaaaaay back
Nope, credit where credit's due- Kyle mentioned it first all the back on page 6.
It's worth bearing in mind that Mjolnir is merely Thor's weapon of choice, it may have powers (principally over weather and lightning, and allow him to 'fly') but it's neither the source of his powers nor his only power (as evidenced in Avengers when he's fighting without it). It's easy to confuse what happened with the hammer in the Thor film, which was a specific test of his character, with Thor generally.
Fair enough, I don't read the comics
There have been other wielders of the hammer throughout the comic run, and some have been able to use Mjolnir's powers, but none to my knowledge have stripped Thor of his own natural ones. (In fact, there's a long run where Thor fails to prove himself worthy and ends up killing most of the Marvel heroes without it anyway.)
My point had nothing to do with the comics as many people who saw the film wouldn't know or care about that (like me, for example). I felt it could have confused people if Cap could lift the hammer in Avengers, that's all
Glad you liked Captain America, Teague, I like it much better than Thor.
