You must be amazing at Where's Waldo.
Chad Peter found it, but I did have a lot of those books as a kid.

Absolutely fantastic. I've seen it twice, and I really do think it's a tough call given their body of work, but it could be their best. Time will tell. It's so incredibly tight and well thought out. A MASTERCLASS in world-building. I thought Monsters Inc. was brilliant, but this is far more complex. I marveled with every passing minute at how brilliant it was as I put the pieces together. Bing Bong? "Take her to the moon for me." *cries* Powerful metaphor for any parent longing to experience those early years again.
Ugh Pixar I love you.
Anybody who thought Tomorrowland failed because it was original and not based on a previous property better check themselves.
I managed to dump my thoughts into a blog post...

I'm excited, but I'm going to try to keep that excitement to a manageable level next year. More than any other movie, this is the film I could overhype in my head to the point of completely ruining it.
Yea I'm still looking forward to seeing it just for the heck of it.
Behind Enemy Lines has a lot of great stuff in it IMO. The sequence between the plane at the beginning and the missiles is fantastic. Flight had a great plane sequence but Behind Enemy Lines takes the cake for me.
Reviews are downright cringeworthy...
"Anyone who remembers the Die Hard adventures at their vital and exciting best, this film feels like a near-death experience."
Ow.
Maybe this is too much...but can anybody make a list of the different shows and docs and such mentioned in here? I'm half way through and I forgot to have notepad open to make notes, lol.
I've had a few on my list to suggest for a while now:
Minority Report
Mortal Kombat
Mortal Kombat II (If you can stomach it. That's likely to be an entertaining bash-fest)
Street Fighter
Men In Black II
Batman Forever
Batman & Robin (oooooo boy lol)
Chronicle
There's a bunch of more dramatic movies that I would suggest...but I know that's not really DIF's thing. Those would be a good direction to go in though if you guys ever wanted to pick a movie you can dig deep into the craft of storytelling over (not to say you haven't before but maybe dig even deeper). While I enjoy the technical and purely entertaining commentaries, I really enjoy it every time conversations sway into the difficult craft of storytelling, structure, good dialog vs bad dialog, etc. I would love to see you start doing more movies where they lend themselves to that sort of focus.
so he stayed at the club and never won a thing, while 'his' system was used elsewhere and they won the chapionship. Also, how come the Jonah Hill's character wasn't offered that 'new club deal' too since he was doing all the computer stuff ?
Anyway, I'm glad that Real Steel made it in, that's the real surprise. And my old colleague Greg Butler is now an Oscar nominee, and that's cool too.
Absolutely. I saw it the other day and the quality of the work is pretty remarkable.
Fun to skip through and watch for some amazing shots and Oscar worthy Sound Design/Mixing.
That's about it...
Just so you know (Fig), there is a CSS rule that needs fixing on the forum. The titles next to input fields like login, when I registered, etc. is the same color as the BG. I just saw 3 blank input fields and didn't know what to put in them until I highlighted the text so it showed up.
Thanks,
K
