Thanks for posting that video.

Had a good time listening to this "rant," even though I guess I disagree with the reactions. I can't argue any of the points made, all I can say is that I enjoyed Red State after watching it. Would definitely recommend it to my friends. I didn't mind the ending at all, but maybe that had more to do with the fact I had no idea what the horns even meant until Goodman explained it afterward.

I enjoyed the viewpoint in the audio of a former huge Kevin Smith fan who was sad seeing this film, and what Kevin Smith the director had become in his eyes. While I don't feel the same way about Smith, I definitely had a similar experience with Mel Brooks years back. It's like a shot in the gut watching a piece of crap made my someone who was so spectacular.

Just listened to this ep. Loved it. Listening to the George Lucas stories reminded me of a recent one. Not long ago Disney finally redid the Star Tours attraction. The ride now takes place between the prequels and A New Hope. The ride has a randomized setting which has you flying over a bunch of the more famous Star Wars planets. During the pitch to Lucas, the flight went over Hoth and you had an encounter with a Wampa (among other things).

After it finished, Lucas wanted to know why there weren't any AT-ATs in the film. An imagianeer told him that wouldn't make sense as the ride's storyline takes place before the rebels ever went to Hoth.

George's response? "Who cares?"

So there was never any hope for the prequels, we just didn't know it at the time.

Hey guys, just got clued into the podcast and have been on a marathon run listening to various shows.

Just finished the Avatar one and was wondering if anyone actually watched the Director's  Cut and, more importantly, the near hour of deleted scenes? If so, have they changed your opinion of the movie? I ask because those scenes answer many of the problems the crew seem to collectively had.

Off the top of my head the viewer is shown (or told) the current state of Earth, what unobtanium means to Earth (and Pandora), why Norm (the other main Avatar) did a 180 and Calmed The F---Down, the Navi being responsible for human deaths, Natiri's (sp?) backstory with Sigurney Weaver, and a whole dropped storyline of the other Avatars at the base.

Well worth watching if youre a fan of the film. Like one of the team, I didn't see all the animals helping at the end and still mark out huge for that.
