Shadowhawk wasn't used to the space he'd won himself in the short time he'd been part of that crew.  He sat in the glow of at least half a dozen variously sized monitors with computers, servers and components practically cocooning his chair.  He seemed to be simultaneously coding and building something as lines of text spread across multiple screens and the smoke of his soldering iron rose in a steady stream.

A small black screen within a screen flickered to life displaying a wavering blue line.  "Sir, you were correct."  Shadowhawk didn't look up as he muttered, "Obviously, did you do it?"  The line flickered as the speakers somewhere in the room projected the voice it represented, "I did as you asked.  I apologize for the duration of my absence.  He was far more ostentatious than I expected.  He patronized two drinking establishments, however, only a few of the other patrons thought to record the experience.  They will find the results less than newsworthy."

"I told you he doesn't now how to not make a scene.  It's your own fault if you didn't listen," Shadowhawk responded, finally looking up only to turn his attention to a series of windows that appeared on his screens.

"Indeed, I apologize again, sir.  You were correct, also about his exit.  It does not appear he even attempted to disguise the vehicle that was used during the siege.  I believe I was able to mask most of his departure, though, it is unlikely I could have sufficiently disguised the entourage that accompanied him out of the city."

"That's fine.  While you were out I "leaked" some information suggesting the cities street racers would be looking for a new place to shack up after the serious beat down they got by the cities new superstar.  I also posted a handful of sightings around the city."  He turned to look at the blue line, "Burnout did a good job, he deserves some rest," then he punched a few keystrokes and the windows came to life.  A series of videos of a convoy of race cars heading out of the city.  A series of different videos of the lead car freeze frame and zoom into a clear depiction of the driver from various angles.  A map of seattle and surrounding areas depicting the trajectory of the convoy.  A zoomed in shot through three wall sized panes of glass showing a man shooting a creature with bizarre cyber enhancements.  A vastly accelerated video of a man being forced to undergo cyber enhancements followed by a series of stills identifying the man as the one being executed.  A video of a man outside a seedy hotel taking a shot at a man with white hair followed by a series of stills identifying the shooters as the same man.  A long distance video of the white haired man coming out of nondescript building, followed by a video of three race cars crashing into and destroying that same building superimposed by the various manifestos of We are We, finally showing a still of that same man again in front of the Saeder-Krupp logo.

"Assuming I'm left alone, of course."
"Yes sir," and the window closes.

Ok, I've been wondering if we were going to play again  tongue

Would you like to play a game?

Well, to be fair the really cool stuff is still so absurdly expensive that even after a mil there is still room for upward growth.

Runner Name: Shadowhawk
Alias: Kal Spiro, IT consultant for multiple businesses around Forsaken Territory.  Known to be in a fairly serious relationship with a shop owner selling magical supplies and equipment.

Alias: Kiro Rhu'khan, freelance programmer and cyber investigations.

Meta-type: Elf, identifies as Half-elf, easily mistaken for Human.
Gender: Male
Age: Inditerminate

Shadowhawk's early life was as a member of the street gang The Forsaken, a group comprised of street rats and orphans.  Though it didn't have any racial ties most of its members were humans simply due to the area they inhabited.  Despite having carved out a fairly sizable territory in the inner city, their members tend not to remain past adulthood.  Their leader Keldrix and technically Shadowhawk himself are the only members who haven't moved on to other gangs, though Shadowhawk did leave the gang as an official member at some point.

Within the Forsaken he was an electronics expert, bypassing locks and shutting down security systems.  Before long he was being rented to rival gangs growing the reputation and strength of the Forsaken through his skills.  Shadowhawk was a commodity, and the Forsaken put a great deal of effort into growing that commodity.  After acquired his first deck they heavily marketed him to gangs and runners alike.  The Forsaken began collecting clients and setting up contracts, carving out sections of the city all their own thanks to Shadowhawk's work.  He had significantly more freedom than other members and it wasn't long before they were getting so much business he had to train new kids in decking and electronics.  This also meant he could take his pick of what he wanted to do or not, and make decisions on who he was willing to work with.

It was through one of these contracts that he first met Whisper.  The Dulangas needed a cracker to shift account numbers and he was available.  They turned out to be quite efficient and they paid well, which landed them as a fairly consistent client.  If they hadn't all been wiped out some time later it's even possible Shadowhawk would have moved on to them when he out grew the Forsaken.  It was only due to his elven blood that he had remained as long as he did.  While the human kids, and the handful of meta-humans grew up and moved on he hadn't.  His longevity and importance to the gang is why it seemed natural for him to stick around when he finally decided to shift to running rather than continue the gang life.

Contacts:
Syrian Myth - Human, Female, 32 - Part time fortune teller and owner of Glyph Enterprises, the small shop with the big name.  Her shop stocks general and exotic magical supplies.  She owns the building which includes the shop and the two apartments above it, one of which she lives in.  She is, for all intents and purposes, Shadowhawk's girlfriend.
She keeps her eyes and her ears open, but doesn't get much information beyond what trickles into a magic shop.  She is a skilled caster, however, and fairly knowledgeable in magic and magic paraphernalia.

Grimm - Dwarf, Male, 76 - Freelance Street Samurai.  He is a pure mercenary.  Shadowhawk worked with him from time to time on different contracts even after leaving the Forsaken and has earned his respect, but professionally that's as far as his attachments go.  He gets a fair amount of work from different sources, and if you need a shield or a spear he's a quality hire.  But if you're looking for something long term he's not interested.

Keldrix - Human, Male, 28 - Leader of the Forsaken, Smuggler and Fence.  Keldrix is the only human to remain past his teens.  He has been aggressively mobilizing and securing Forsaken territories since he took leadership and is trying to turn the gang into more than just the place runaways turn to until they can join a big gang.  In an attempted to maintain Shadowhawk as a resource after he decided to "retire," he made an apartment available within their territory in one of the more devastated areas they control.  It's hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for, and well protected by the Forsaken, both aspects he knew would attract Shadowhawk to it.

Session 16: House Calls

While we were off collecting nuyen and blowing up cars it appears that some guys managed to get escape prison.  I don't think I've mentioned this, but we need to break in, because of this AI that's gotten the gang all riled up.  It has something to do with Michael and other things.  So this is big news for us.

For runners these guys have surprisingly uncriminal contacts, but whatever.  I hooked up with my landlord, leader of the Forsaken and my former boss.  I mean he's my landlord in the sense that I live in Forsaken territory and they don't let anyone else in.  They've gotten pretty strong since my time, especially for a bunch of orphan kids that usually break ranks in their late teens.  It probably does not bode well for the city, but as long as it keeps my secure I could care less.

Anyway, the point is he pointed me to the crew that was protecting our "runaways."  Seems their old crew is dead and gone, but they still had a few connections on the outside.  I brought Buttface with me for the financing, I kind of thought he'd represent the "firm" but I ended up doing most of the talking afterall.  He didn't have any real loyalty to the shmucks and it ended up being a pretty cheap deal, it didn't hurt that I'd worked with the guy in the past for things.  He gave up the address and we stopped by for a chat.

When we got to the door we met Brains.  Brains is not super bright, and basically gave away their whole situation before we were even inside.  Once inside we met Smarts.  Smarts is the guy who kept Brains alive inside, of this I have no doubt.  Brains is some kind of resource, though.  It seems there is something happening in the Prison, probably experiments, probably related to the target.  But the power drops and seemingly random intervals.  Brains, purely by observation, figured out they weren't random and produced an algorithm to explain them.  That's how they got out, Brains predicted the blackout and the escaped while the security was out.  I want Brains on team Shadowhawk.  I might, almost, even be willing to let him shack up at my place.  I mean, no, I really wouldn't, but I could think of it like a fantasy.  Still I could find a place to put him where he'd be comfortable and just spending time cracking things for me.  That's the dream, but Smarts would absolutely have to be out of the picture first.

Regardless of what happens with Brains, I have the algorithm now, and so we have a very important step handled for how to get into the Prison.  It was a pretty good day, that I probably could have done on my own and been just as effective.  It was really tempting to just drop Smarts and take Brains, but ultimately it wouldn't have been good for me.  Too many people knew I was going there, and I prefer not to leave a trail.

Session 15: Curbside Service

This is the kind of nonsense that happens when I'm off doing my own work.  While I was busy working my way through Michael's server, Buttface and Whisper started a war with the Yakuza.  I mean seriously, who does that?  I thought they were professionals, but I've been proven wrong before.  It seems they were trying to protect someone Whisper knew, but it was still a bad call.  So now I'm sitting in a car because of course they needed me to fix the problem they got themselves into.

In order to make up for murdering their guys "we" have been forced to take a job.  To be fair, it's a pretty good job, and I don't really see a problem in having taken it anyway.  The Yakuza want some corporate bigwig, and amazingly are willing to pay for him.  Even better, we got some extra man power for free cause it was his fault they got themselves into this trouble in the first place.

The bigwig was scheduled to speak at a conference.  We opted for a snatch and grab on the way in on the last day.  Whisper is on the roof far away from the fighting, where I wish I could be.  My job is two fold, stop traffic so we can make the grab, and to blow the door so Dave can be the muscle.  Buttout is doing the thing he does, choffeur.  In addition to the usual suspects we have another troll across the way with heavy armaments, and I guess the useless guy that started all this.

It started out really well, because I had the first move, so of course it did.  Traffic stopped dead, with plenty of room for Buffup to get me and Dave right next to the door.  Whisper blanketed the area in sleeping gas and started popping windows.  I got out and went to work on the door.  Then things started going wrong.

It seems that Bigwig's security detail were not keen on him getting taken and started trying to repel us.  His rear guard was particularly zealous as he repeatedly rammed our ride and appeared keen on running me down.  I took it personally.  More importantly, though, some magically son of a bitch tried to murder me with fire.  This shaman conjured up a lady made of fire whole literally tried to hug me to death.  This is why I stay prepared for anything and put every kind of protection I could into my coat.  I had work to do, and I did not have time to be incinerated.

That was it, though, the only real hurdles were setting me on fire and possibly getting run over.  Big Boomer popper the rear guard, like a surgeon, and Bumout happened to have a fire extinguisher on him.  After that is was short work to blow the door and my job was done.  Dave went full Troll, popped the shaman, popped the aide I assume, and moved on Bigwig.  Right about then the driver seemed to get control of the situation and bolted.  Too little too late, though, obviously.  Rather than Dave flinging Bigwig into our car, he jumped out of a moving vehicle and we picked them up.

It wasn't as perfect as the bank heist, but it was still a job pretty well done.  The payday was also what I've been expecting since I hooked up with these losers.  I was able to renovate my craphole of an apartment and upgrade my wardrobe to something worth owning.  Hopefully these guys won't start any more unnecessary fights, but I think that's a far fetched hope.

I don't understand the intro, there hasn't been a lot of reference to Shadowrun, short of a few comments about rolling poorly.  This was definitely the best one off.

I want Shia LeBeouf to make Actual Cannibal Shia LeBeouf the movie.  I want it to start with the play, and him clapping, and then transition into any version of it with 90 minutes of live action horror.

-edit- Oh, ok, yes there're the references.

I also have two more safe houses that are good to the end of the month.  Actually, where are they now?  Are they still in the first safe house, or were they moved?  Cause all my safe houses are shitty squatter residences.

Well that sucked, Skype crapped out then windows crapped out and I had to hard boot it.  But the last time I had restarted was from windows crashing and my raid broking, needing to be reset when windows loaded.  It took a few hours, and apparently it didn't know it was fixed, so it did it again this time.  Serious pain in the ass.

What happened after I dropped?

So are we on for tomorrow?  I was a little worried that my computer ate itself, but it looks like it recovered, so I should be fine.

Owls are totally awesome, they're just so quiet.  It appears that this year the horses beat the cats at being superb owls.  Or at least that's what Comedy Central, of all things, tells me constantly.

So apparently, a little after 10:30 my computer stopped working correctly.  Explorer crashed or locked up or whatever, but my desktop got stuck and my clock stopped.  So we finished after midnight and I was sitting there thinking it's 10:30 still.

I find it amazing that almost every time I completely flake on these sessions something happens and ultimately it didn't matter.  Still, I was expecting to be there, and then I wasn't.  I should probably just leave skype on, but I dislike having it in my task bar and I don't know how to make it only display in my system tray.  If that is even a thing.

Sorry about all that, I don't know what's up with me lately but I've been seriously spacey.  At some point between asking about it and the normal start I just completely lost track of it as a thing that could happen.

Also my phone is a very unreliable method of contacting me at my house.  I got the text from Boter some time around 11.
