Re: Suggest a movie!
They did Raiders on Geekza. With horrible audio quality.
So it probably wouldn't hurt to redo it.

We don't have set rules for the show, but one thing we try to do is remain cognizant when we're taking on a franchise, and do the franchise rather than just isolated movies.* We don't want to have too many franchises-in-progress at one time.
That being said, we do intend to eventually take on Indy, Back to the Future, and probably Pirates, down the line.
If it's a franchise, assume it's on our radar. Help us think of less obvious movies!
*Star Trek being so far the exception, and I don't want to think about the future of commenting on that franchise until I at least get the blood out of my clothes from this last time.
I think if you're gonna do a singular movie it's gotta be something foreign, getta little spice in there.
The Host, Ping-Pong, Crouching Tiger, Run Lola Run, The Bicycle Thief (kidding)

Real Genius is a favorite of mine, as is Big Trouble
Okay, less obvious, then. "Deep Rising." 1998, Stephen Sommers before he got all ugh. Treat Williams being awesome, Kevin J. O'Connor being awesome, Famke Janssen being awesome.
It's got guilty pleasure written all over it.

I know Ive mentioned it, but Dorkman and I want to do a Crouching Tiger/Karate Kid double feature next time I sit in for someone other than Dorkman (its sad that the anniversary show was the first time I had DiF'd with Mr. Scott).
a Crouching Tiger/Karate Kid double feature
^ This
I was doing a thing.
"Forget it, Mayhew, it's..." Ah forget it.
It's off the beaten path, but you guys might get a kick out of "A Perfect Getaway." There's certainly a lot to say about it.
Just registered, so "hi"
1) Silence of the Lambs - It's a thriller classic and pretty much set the standard of what a psychological thriller / serial killer film should aspire to. Kinda surprised no one's suggested it yet.
2) Jackie Brown - Probably Tarantino's least well known film. Pretty dissimilar to his other stuff.
3) Where The Wild Things Are - There seems to be two camps on this: you either love it to death or think it's pointless, dull crap.
4) Mel Brooks films would probably make for awesome commentary material. Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, or Space Balls.
If you want to get into some of the more obscure stuff you should consider some of the Takeshi Kitano films. Hana-Bi or Sonotine. One of the greatest directors currently walking the earth.
Welcome to the forums, sir.
Silence of the Lambs is a great call, oh trust me, we'll get to Tarantino, WTWTA might work. We're definitely going to do Young Frankenstein.
Well if we're going with Frankenstein stories, how can I not say Rocky Horror?
Sigh. This is the part where I'm forced to admit publicly that ive never seen that one.
Hated it.

Well, Rocky Horror is not a movie. It's a collection of thematically-related music videos. It's essentially incoherent if you try to take it as a whole.
I like it, I'm just saying. It doesn't make any sense and let's not pretend it does.
As your making you way through the Alien franchise, will you have a chance to do the Predator movies as well, eventually?

Like Trek, you have to have read the comic book tie-in to really understand the backstory
Though you can skip the comic if you watch the webisodes.

I'd second that vote.

Link?
If we did Predator, I'd vote that we do it less in terms of Predator frachise but an Arnold retrospective. Running Man, Total Recall, Predator, and Conan. I think those are his best movies and it'd be interesting to contrast. Also lots to talk about in regards to adaptation , VFX, screenwritng, et al.
