Re: FIYH Movie Club :: Suggestion Thread
Can we tag the selected movies in the original posts? Something like this would do:
# winner #
It doesn't have to say 'winner', the tag is arbitrary. If we do that I can mark the picks on the list.

Unless Teague feels like working some mod magic, that would be up to the person who suggested it to edit thier post.
Sooo... maaaaybe?
Done.
Done.
Ok, I miss understood how we were doing this too. Glad my movie was chosen for week 2. I'll be posting my thoughts on Evil Dead in that thread shortly.
Picks are now being marked on the list: www.dif.l-x11.com

I'm watching mr. Brooks tonight, but I'm gonna post this just to bump it up, and remind y'all that the new movie get's picked on Wed.
Week 3 :: 1 :: BDA :: In Bruges
I have been told this movie is amazing. It's on Netflix, let's get it oon.
Lamer: I'm noticing that the suggestion number on the list doesn't reset on a new week. It just goes from where it ended, it's not a huge deal, it's easy enough to work around, but thought you'd like to know.

Do we have to resubmit our pick every week?
Week 3 :: 2 :: Writhyn :: The Eagle
Period roman film. Includes example of a testudo formation in action. And the music is great.
It's on Netflix. Also Google play.

Were they supposed to reset? I'm only counting posts atm. There's no category or filtering system in place so I keep it simple for now. Do you need them to match between the forum and the list?
Yeah, I was kinda thinking that each week would be it's own contained selection pool if that makes sense.
So like I have to do is say, choose a random number between 11 and 16 or whatever, to choose the new movie.
In terms of what I NEED? I have no clue, this is being made up as I go along.

Alright then. I'll add that in my spare time.
And with a spin of the wheel, next up is The Eagle, as suggested by Writhyn.
Discussion thread is here: http://friendsinyourhead.com/forum/view … hp?id=1903
You have until Wed April 22nd to get entries in for next week.
How do I nominate AGORA for week #4? Or MR NOBODY for Week #5?
For week 4, use the template BBCode in the first post of this thread. Reference any of the other suggestions in this thread for examples.
For week 5, do the same thing, but next week when submissions open for week 5.
And don't forget to watch the movie and participate in the discussions
Week 4 :: 1 :: avatar :: AGORA

Your name goes in the little name space, so we can see who suggested it in Lamer's fancy list thingy.

sorry - new to all this interweb and tweeter and factbook stuff.
Great to join at last.
Week 4 :: redxavier :: High and Low
I've suggested one of my favourites of Akira Kurosawa's outstanding collection of work. It's set in 50s Japan and centres around the kidnapping of a rich business man's son. Some might call Kurosawa films slow, but I'd argue that they are measured. Every shot and its duration all feel like deliberate choices, all contributing to telling the story, pleasing the eye and provoking emotional reactions.
Week :: 4 :: 1 :: avatar :: AGORA
Remove the :: between 'Week' and '4'.

*ninja*
...I think I heard a whoosh
And the fresh scent of pine.
And just the slightest after aroma of mint.
Ninja's know their cologne man.
