Re: OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL review by Dorkman

A reviewer in a local magazine said that he felt the film would have been far better if Nathan Fillion had played Oz instead of Franco. I concur wholeheartedly. We *need* him in a blockbuster production.

I've heard multiple people say this plays like a disney remake of Army of Darkness, which made me kinda want to see it, but I guess it's not really worth it (Franco is no Bruce Campbell).

I've had dark feelings about/towards this movie since the trailers started flowing, glad to see they weren't unfounded.

I'm still waiting for the day when something (anything) is able to pull off a prequel/sequel to Wizard of Oz as effectively as Wicked does. Given this, it seems a long way off.

Yeah, this was atrocious. I saw it in 3D, and Raimi can't direct in the format for shit. Soooooo much panning that made the beautiful landscapes blurry and impossible to make out. I actually wished that it had been shot at a higher frame rate. And Franco's performances is an all-time low for him. He so clearly doesn't want to be there.
