Re: Suggest a movie!
After "Sunshine," I think you guys should do both "Event Horizon" and Soderbergh's "Solaris."

would you guys ever consider doing "Where the Wild Things Are"? that was my favorite movie last year, and it has some amazing visuals. i am not sure there is enough to say to carry a whole commentary though.
I was just looking at that one on the iTunes and wondering whether I should rent it. But I never heard anybody say anything good about it. It's worth seeing, you think?
Solaris is fucking awesome. I would say I liked it better than Sunshine and Moon and Event Horizon.
oh yes sir! i was mildly skeptical going in (i am not a Dave Eggers fan) but from the opening of the film i was sucked in. i related to Max Records portrayal of Max in so many ways. i agree with a review i heard somewhere that said it was a "Junior Cassavettes" film. the whole time it was like watching someone carry a beautiful Faberge egg, and i kept thinking "please don't drop this!" fortunately, for me, spike jonze never did. it's really an emotional narrative, not so much a straight forward story, but it hits all the right notes (again, for me).
definitely worth a rent (i bought the blu ray dvd combo for when i someday own a blu ray player).
I kinda hated Where the Wild Things Are. I was really, really bored through the whole thing. Couldn't ever figure out why anything was happening.
Because of Arcade Fire, we've been fucking over this.
We haven't.
But you should know. Be more wistful.
Who's been fucking who now?
Brian and Mike.
They never stop.
I missed the first-reply opportunity, but I congratulate Obi Wan on his excellent comedies.
I'm testing out nicknames on you, Jeffery.
EDIT: Posting from the giant living room computer, Brian, Fayda Vayda and I just noticed your name is spelled oddly in our experience with Jeff names.
Jeff Fury might be the new thing. Might be Jeff Furry. We're hard at work here.
Couldn't ever figure out why anything was happening.
that pretty much sums up childhood (for me). Hell, that pretty much sums up everyday for me.

Yeah, no kidding. Thanks, Mom, for condemning me to a lifetime of spelling my name out loud to people and being really easy to google.
Welcome to the forums, Kyle! I do not know this Postal.
Director: Uwe Boll...
Thats it, I'M OUT!
..loooking further down the page...
They got Dave Foley in this thing??!?
I am currently weighing my love for Dave Foley against my hatred of Uwe Boll...it's gonna be close.
Oh and yah...never got into The Wild Things...I can respect Spike Jonze for what he tried to do, but it was a try and a fail in my books.
Postal made me hate Uwe Boll less.
which I did not think was possible after House of the Dead.
Oh man. I was just saying we need to do a few films that are just inarguably bad so we can trash them with relish. That's the perfect reason to start into the oeuvre of Uwe.
/his name is pronounced "oo-vuh" so it sounds like "oeuvre" it's clever shut up
My buddy was gonna fight Uwe Boll on Attack of the Show until Uwe pulled out.
And I thought it was pronounced "Uhhh... whuh?"
/never actually seen any of his movies
/just trying to fit in

I've always heard "oo-vey."
I got The Black Hole from Netflix tonight. You guys need to do this movie. I haven't seen it since I was a kid, but I remember every frame. I can't really tell whether it's secretly a great film, or whether it irreparably scarred me.
Please please please do this one.
The Black Hole would be cool. That was huge when I was a kid, but weird. I remember the comedy robots coming off as awesomely hollow in the creepy environment. Its reputation is something like Tron's: an interesting diversion for Disney into serious sci fi, but ultimately unsuccessful. Still, this was my own personal 2001: A Space Odyssey.
