Re: The old "next week" thread.

Teague just to let you know, the entire wrap up is missing from Pans Labyrinth. It just cuts out.

(No I am not getting ahead of schedule, I'm simply rearranging the schedule a bit tongue I mean seriously you expect me to wait for Pans fukin Labyrinth when it's just sitting there taunting me?)

Anyways, just thought you should know.

Spoilers!

God, Maul, what's wrong with you. Someone of us want to WAIT and find out that there's errors in the file when it's RELEASED.

Re: The old "next week" thread.

I'm really sorry if this question is not posted in the right spot, but I don't know where else to ask it.

Teague, is your sign off, "Goodnight, goodnight," a tribute to Whose Line is it Anyway?  At the end of every episode of the original British version of WLIIA, the host, Clive Anderson, would sign off by saying, "...and I'm Clive Anderson saying goodnight.  Goodnight."

Re: The old "next week" thread.

Yep. Of course, that set up with two consecutive "goodnights" works grammatically and mine doesn't. But it's a thing.

Re: The old "next week" thread.

Little-known fact: Everything Teague says on the show is carefully scripted by a staff of young writers — he pays peanuts but promises fame to the naive and the optimistic — and focus-group tested extensively before every episode. Go back and listen to some of the older shows. You can clearly hear him struggling with the teleprompter. Plus I think every once in a while his staff will insert typos into his script just to mess with him during the show. Funny, but a dangerous business. Teague's temper is legendary. Literally. There are legends.

Oh, I am definitely interested in hearing why everyone seems to hate on Pan's Labyrinth.

I'd be interested in people's thoughts on what there is to like about PAN'S, other than the creatures.

Re: The old "next week" thread.

@ Dorkman: Honestly I think the main thing that drew me to it was,

1) gore, yeah!

2) This dark twisted fantasy aspect that I had never really seen before or since really (I mean even Hellboy is still pretty campy if you think about it). I mean I have yet to find a movie that could stradle the creepy weird creatures, that will scare you shitless, and the fairy tale thing without crossing over into a campy, sort of not really taking itself totally serious (Lord of The Rings is the closest thing, but even that's more just straight up fantasy than it is fairy tale)

3) I was young, wasn't really thinking about movies in that kind of a way before (I was 14 when this came out), and I never really sat down and looked at it like that since then

(If you can't tell, you guys definitely swayed my opinion on this one, although I do have some issues to bring up when the official topic is posted)

@teague: wait!! That's who were referring to in the thing?...dude...well i mean it does make more sense than the other one. Cause I could not understand that one. ( I mean shes....alright, but really?)

Re: The old "next week" thread.

New to the forums, but I've been listening for a few months now. Thanks for giving me a reason to re-watch old favorites, and discover 'new' movies that I should have already seen.

Stoked for Pans Labyrinth, it's instant on Netflix for the time being.

Should be an interesting commentary.

Okay, what.

Meh. The only jailbait that could hook me is Kristen Stewart in Zathura. She was embarrassingly mesmerizing.

And Shirley Temple. Wahey!

My favorite part of that is that -- for me at least -- it's a tweet by Eddie that's used as an example for both of us. So really it's Eddie vs. Eddie.

My fear is that if the two Eddie's touch, will they melt like Ron Silver did in Timecop?
