Overheard at a party, about a year from now...

Interesting that after the recent complaints that the series is more rapey than the books, tonight we got a mention of Lollys, a notable rape victim in the books, but not in the series.

I just really like "Only Cat" as a line. It bugs me a little that they got rid of it because they were afraid people had forgotten who "Cat" was.

It's still a great scene, of course. I just wish they'd kept that line.

Heh, yeah.  I liked that, too.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire (BOOK READERS ONLY; MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD)

Even knowing what was coming, it's been a while since I've been quite so viscerally horrified by an act of violence on screen as I was by Oberyn's death.

Meanwhile, let's give a warm welcome to Sansa the Playahhhhhh!   She's learned from the best, now let's see what she's got... smile

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire (BOOK READERS ONLY; MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD)

I had to stifle my reaction to Littlefinger's line because nobody else in my house has read the books. But I smiled on the inside.

But I can't really play that card for much longer. If we're honest, pretty much nothing happens in 4, or 75% of 5. Which means I have pretty much no idea what's going to happen for the next four years of this show, and I'm excited.

I was amazed by how much Sansa looked like Catelyn in those shots. Dunno what trickery they did to achieve that but it definitely worked.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire (BOOK READERS ONLY; MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD)

Bloodraven's been cast for this season, so he'll turn up eventually (?).

Can see them ending S4 introducing Bloodraven as this well-intentioned (?) undead (?) father figure for an orphaned Bran as his revenging (?) undead mother comes back to life.

Haven't been able to watch any of this season so far,  but a lot of the praise this year has been on the performances, right? Considering the next big set pieces are like a book and a half away, confident they can make everyone sitting around talking to each other in this world at least as compelling as they have so far. There's lots of little fights and raids and stuff that could get peppered through next season, too.

Plus all of Arya's karate kid face ninja learning. And Huck Finn Targaryen.

Or hey they could introduce a whole bunch of new Night's King shit and it will all rage on forever.

They've been holding off showing the Ironborn kingsmoot because Daario is really Euron in disguise.

Speaking of tinfoilery, I dig the idea of Quaithe being Shiera Seastar functioning as Dany's Bloodraven.

My favorite tinfoil theory is that the High Septon is Howland Reed.

Anybody read the Dunk and Egg stuff? I burned through the graphic novels a couple weeks ago listening to the Skyrim soundtrack since I can't watch season four for another couple weeks. They're great.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire (BOOK READERS ONLY; MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD)

I didn't quite feel the transformation in Sansa in the books as I did in the show, especially with tonight's episode. They nailed it.

PS : don't know where they're going with this Greyworm/Missandei subplot but it's boring me.
