Although same goes here, I was kinda hoping to kill some time with it during my epic homework filled all niter. Ah well, guess it'll just have to fill some time in tonight's epic homework filled all niter.

Re: The old "next week" thread.
Is this the theatrical Aliens 3, or the directors cut? I have the 4 disk set with just the theatrical so this must be asked

Re: The old "next week" thread.
I do believe it was the theatrical, as I recall we remarked that there was a rather different director's cut, but only because we weren't watching it.

Re: The old "next week" thread.
I like Alien3, myself.
I see how it's not everything it could be -- it feels rather more like an episode of "Alien: The ABC TV Series" than a film on its own merits, and it kind of makes the triumphant ending of Aliens...well, it fucks it. But it's not the worst piece of shit I've ever seen call itself a movie, nor even the worst sequel.
Dunno about brilliant though.

Actually, I think JayHair and Mike will be pleased with our commentary. We're quite fair on the thing.
Re: The old "next week" thread.
Did I just get nicknamed? I feel all tingly inside.
Re: The old "next week" thread.
Yeah, without giving too much away, no one was shitting on Alien 3. It's more just a sad resignation of what could have been and where everything went wrong that prevented it from living up to the excellence of the first two movies.
