Topic: Orphan Black (no spoilers unless marked)

Now that I've finished the season, on Teague and Trey's suggestion, I can safely say this is the best, funniest sci-fi show I've seen in ages. I implore people to check it out, and figure it more than deserves a thread on here. More than anything, I think this show absolutely nails pacing and tone. There is almost no filler on this thing, and it just keeps getting weirder and crazier at a pretty nutso pace. And then it strikes this perfect sorta-serious but borderline darkly comedic tone that just completely works with the goofier stuff in the story. This thing kinda came out of nowhere and it rules.

And just a few minutes ago, lead actress Tatiana Maslany won the Critic's Choice award for best actress in a drama.   Woot!

The show's been very low on the radar so far, the season ended with miniscule ratings although it's been gaining ground since day one due to word of mouth.  And the lead actress just beat Claire Danes, Vera Farmiga,  Julianna Margulies, Elisabeth Moss and Keri Russell tonight - that should help raise the industry profile a bit.

The best news - despite the low ratings the show's already been renewed for a second season.   So get over to iTunes or Amazon this minute and get on board, so you can be all cool later and say you were always a fan.

Its been gaining a ton of steam on Twitter, I wouldn't be surprised if this blows up the way Downton Abbey did a year or two ago. Watch season 2 open to big numbers.

Also, I desperately want a spin-off about Felix and Alison hanging out and going on adventures.

Real-life spoilers: neither of them are British, and the guy who plays Felix has a southern-sounding accent.

I've seen the first three or four episodes and as a fully qualified British person consider me fooled. (My girlfriend insists she wasn't but I think she was a bit)

They both do quite good essex accents rather then the usual american actors fall  back of 19th century cockney.

Tatiana Maslany is damn good in her scenes with the soccer mum.
