Re: Pick a car

Nice!  I've been wishing we had a modding system for a while now.  Actually I'm with Trey, and partially with Zarban.  If we're going to call it Karma, the system really should work both ways.

Re: Pick a car

It did initially, I had Holden take out the negative votes. I'm also trying to get the "User Karma" thingy off of the identity table on the left.

Re: Pick a car

The Fast and The Furious is not a "crass piece of work."  The sequel I have no great love for, but the most recent three (and a fourth / sixth on the way) with Justin Lin at the helm have a lot of heart.  Even the first one is dealing heavily with family issues when it isn't warping time and space in a quarter-mile.

Sure the depiction of cars isn't accurate, but who wants that?  Cars in movies are just like guns and computers and who knows what else; people expect certain things from them, regardless of how they would work in reality.  That's ok.  Drifting sideways through an intersection is no way to go fast, to say nothing of being unsafe, but put it in a movie, and I'm having a great time.  Sure it's gratuitous; that's the point.

Re: Pick a car

All I care about when it comes to cars in movies is that the cars be real and actually doing what I'm seeing. I'm lookin' at you, Gone in 60 Seconds's climactic Eleanor jump.

Warning: I'm probably rewriting this post as you read it.
