Fine then, I guess I'll just frakking post it in here again.
"I cannot believe I watch the whole fucking thing.
Discuss.
PS. On a side-related note. You guys seem to say "we're not judging on filmmaking or cinematography (Zetc etc) because this is a choreography competition". But I seem to notice a LOT of people wanting to do that type of thing, and I know personally that I've always been turned off by the strict choreography focus of the LCC. So why isn't there a version of the LCC designed around short films, either fan filmy or not. Or am I just a decade late for the whole concept?"
I'll probably watch it. I started watching it a couple hours ago when I saw that you recorded it, but then I got distracted by your other videos, and then some other videos. I caught the tail end of the live thingy, tho. I was interested in the discussion you guys were having about youtube and internet video in general, but I had to go get food for people, so I missed everything.
It looks cool, tho. I'll probably watch it when I get a free couple of hours.
If I remember correctly, LCC was started back in the heyday of fan films when there was a running trope of "Oh man, not another lame lightsaber fight in a forest. Do something more interesting people!". I think the theory was to gather up all the lightsaber fights in one place, and encourage other fan films for the rest of the year. Also to encourage better lightsaber fights.
Considering that the LCC is now probably the largest producer of Star Wars fan films these days, I think the first part of the theory backfired. On the up side, the fights themselves are much improved.
As for having a sort of "Fan Film Oscars", it's definitely been discussed in many threads. The big problem is the limited number of fan films that come out each year. Fully made fan films can take years to come out, and barely any are made these days. Also, as Teague says, it's hard to come up with rules and judging criteria. "What's your favourite fan film?" is another cliche thread on TFN fan films.
Where are the links to the films themselves? I remember a whole list last year.
Curious Spiff and Sabeel want to know which slap was the one DIF found funny? The first one with the glove or the second in the long take?
