"Four Quartets: The Dry Salvages," T. S. Eliot
(Was pretty tired when I recorded this so it's not the best take, for which I apologize; will endeavor to make up for it with "Little Gidding" tomorrow.)
And bringing the cycle to a close: "Four Quartets: Little Gidding," T. S. Eliot
Got two pieces of short fiction for you tonight—both post/apocalyptic bedtime stories.
"Packing," T. Kingfisher (short short story - 5 mins.)
"The Future Is Blue," Catherynne M. Valente (long short story - 42 mins.)

Fuck it, have some Bible! (This is from Robert Alter's superlative translation of the Hebrew Bible, specifically.)
"Brokeheart: Just Like That" by Patrick Rosal.mp3
Happy National Poetry Month
Two things:
1) I love seeing poetry in this thread. Haven't finished listening to Four Quartets but thank you Abbie for reading "Instructions"—I love that poem. I'm not even mad you beat me to it.
2) Katelynne, you have an excellent reading voice, and also excellent taste in poems
Hell yeah! Thanks for diving in, dios!
(Random update: I am now days late on my [days-delayed] return to 'The Looming Force.' My absence weighs on me. Maybe not back tomorrow, but soon. Sorry.)
Something like five or six parts left, I'm guessin.'
Notes
(Reminder: I, myself, listen back to these at faster-than-usual speed. You do you.)
I continue to get an (probably narcissistic) absolute kick out of you reading this.
Honestly, the fact that I know the authors are actually gonna hear it is like half the reason it's so fun to do.
Well — 'try to do.'
*thumbs up*
So, ditto to you-'n-y'all. Thanks for the good book, ya dumbasses! Jokes on you for being nobodies!
("If not, you'd have a serious narrator.") ("I'm not in here with you. You're in here with me.") (Some shit? Pft.)
Whatever. These are the kinds of thrills available to dorks of our caliber. I'm just glad we're havin' fun with it.
(And, frankly, a little bit honored. Not like a weird amount. But more than a bit.)
(And for the record — I think I've said something like this to Abbie in private, but I'll say it here and now, to both Nate and everyone: I seriously feel like I owe Nate and Abbie like an actual apology for some of the various stuff I'm doing so poorly in this shit. It is known that this-thing-we're-graciously-having-fun-with does include me occasionally deliberately kind of actually fucking it up. And they wrote a book — so. Fuck me. Any case, sorry.)
(Also, I'm kinda interpreting this-whole-current-readthrough-project as just being a "take one," with the possibility of a much-better "take two" taking place once I finally have my mind wrapped around the story a bit better. So, if nothing else — except my standing context of 'toooootally fuck-me' — I can promise you that at least the next version of this shit won't be littered with 'fucks.')
(Or some shit.)
(Sorry.)
(Wee!)
("Fuck.")
Book Finale!
Notes:
Notes to come later.
Thanks y'all.
Thanks authors.
Thank you UNDYINGLY for doing this with our work you crazy bastard

Finally got around to recording another chapter. I did some post-processing for Shodan, since she's such a main character, and because silly accents are a thing I gave one to Diego.
Free Radical
Chapter 5 - Shodan
And again, since she's such a main character, here's the art of Shodan:
I recently rediscovered one of my favourite childhood books, and it's been a while since we had a fairytale so...
So I definitely don't think I'll be finishing Free Radical, which kinda stinks - I enjoy it, but I'm not at home all week anymore and it's really quite long (and I started to make more work for myself with SHODAN's voice), so I sorta missed the boat there.
That said, I'm starting a YouTube series reading a prequel novella (which I've read before) to a game (which I haven't). I'm treating it like a Let's Play, commenting on it as I go, both because it's sorta what I do and maybe it's transformative enough? Not that I expect the copyright holders to come after me for this one.
Thera Awakening, the prequel to Stonekeep, written by Steve Jackson and David Pulver.
Seven chapters, uploading every Thursday; I'll try to cross-post here.
Oh hell yeah!
There Awakening, the prequel to Stonekeep, written by Steve Jackson and David Pulver. Chapter Two.
There Awakening, the prequel to Stonekeep, written by Steve Jackson and David Pulver. Chapter Three.
There Awakening, the prequel to Stonekeep, written by Steve Jackson and David Pulver. Chapter Four.
