Re: Release, Record: 11/9

They couldn't finish Tron the first time, as told in the anniversary show, so this is the retry perhaps with a different lineup. It would be interesting to have the first attempt released the same day if you guys saved it, as sort of a bonus feature smile

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

Sorry to be confusing. I was talking about the 'live-in-person' thing mentioned at the top of this topic. Not important, i was just curious.

I like Tron but haven't seen 2012 yet. Not a big John Cusack fan.

Beldar: They haven't done a live in-person thing yet...that's this week.

They tried recording a Tron commentary before, THAT'S what they thought was boring and not worth releasing.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

Maul: That isn't this week, is the point. smile

Beldar: We're still gonna do episodes this weekend, but not the in person thing as planned. Eddie had to drop out of the line-up last minute, which changed the schedule around. We're definitely gonna do that at some point, though.

And it looks like Tron got vetoed.

Poor Tron. So unloved.

Tron is an Eddie movie, and Eddie couldn't make it on Saturday, so we swapped it for something...else.

...Spider-Man 2.

Have a copy of the cartoon theme song hooked up to a big red button, and whenever one of you feels the need to swear at the screen slam your fist into the button and happily sing along smile

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

I don't really understand the level of disdain some folks have for Spider-Man 2. The first one? Maybe. The third one? Most definitely. Having said that, DiF is very good at making me reevaluate my position on a given film. Sometimes, they make me think, "Wow, that IS a massive problem that I never noticed before. Now I like this movie a lot less." Other times, I think, "Hey, they make some valid points I had not previously considered. I have a better understanding/appreciation of this movie, now." There are also rare occasions where listening to DiF results in, "Hmmm. Those are all valid complaints, and I mostly agree, but my overall opinion of this movie has not changed." I'm curious/excited to see which one of those Spider-Man 2 will land on.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

I totally agree. It's not as though I love Spider-Man 2 despite it having flaws. I just don't see the flaws at all. Then again, I haven't seen it in five years, so maybe I've missed something that DiF will enlighten me on.

Remember how we never change our minds?

Not doing Spider-Man 2 tomorrow, either. Doing Aladdin. smile

Sorry. This weekend has had the most schedule fuckuppery of any recording session we've had.

Now I have to see if my sister has a copy, as Netflix pulls their copies when Disney lets a title go out of print.

Don't worry they'll change their minds again, and end up doing Polyester or something (don't forget the scratch and sniff cards).

Aladdin is your first Disney classic? Not Lion King? Huh. Wouldn't have called that.

Now to find a copy of Aladdin...

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

Wow, first I was really happy that you were doing Spider-Man 2 instead of Tron. Now, I'm even happier to see that you're doing Aladdin. The more you're changing your minds, the better it is for me.

I'll be expecting to hear everyone's Gilbert Godfried impressions.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

Has anyone ever heard of this movie, Stranded?  From the description it sounds like that elusive movie fitting the category of "like Apollo 13 only it hasn't happened yet".  However, from the reviews it sounds like it suffers from poor acting, or its a rip off of Mission to Mars, which I didn't think was very good to begin with.

I think I have (though I might be confusing it with an older one). Never seen it though.
