Good grief everyone. we're all still here - it's not like anyone died.

Let's be honest - the forum is more than the podcasts. The podcasts were wonderful, they were a thing, but it's time to put them to bed.

So. With the admonishment out of the way, let's get back to bullshitting about films and television.

Bugger.

True story, doing something similar on ancestry dot com put me in contact with my aunt from my fathers side, who put me in contact with my half-sister and half-brother. The daughter of my cousin, who I met for the first time a few years ago, is now in Melbourne on a working visa.

I've gone from having a small family to a reasonably sized one, and they're awesome (mostly. Half-sister is a born-again. It's ... Uncomfortable, she's basically in a sanctioned cult).

As a busy husband, father, and income-generator, I couldn't make use of something like this - there's simply not the time.

What I would make use of is something like SciShow for papers, give me a curated 5-10 minute chunk I can digest once the child is in bed.

You know, this could well be Mike's Joaquin Phoenix-esque art project.

Pfft. I've had worse. Let me tell you about the time I got this wicked paper cut in the webbing between my thumb and index finger.

Mike's getting better. I expect him to be intolerably smug about the outpouring of affection he's receiving on Facebook.

Should we start making snarky remarks?

It feels a little bit like I'm in mourning, which is a horrible thing to say. He's not gone, just absent. And it leaves a weird Mike-on-the-Internet shaped hole.

My thoughts are with you buggers who actually know him. He just poked holes in my opinions through Facebook, yet I lament. To not have him around must be harder.

The market here is a little tough to get into, so we're quite happy to be in at all. The location is good, and I think we've done ok - it's livable, comfortable, and anything we do to the property will increase the value, even doing nothing.

I do think we should each watch the twilight series in his honour. He shouldn't be the only one suffering.

Gods, I've become the Norwegian.

I'll hand-over, house and baby stuff up the wazoo. Sorry for the radio silence all.
