Re: Suggest a Commentary 2.0: The Suggestioning
Here's a thought-seeing as how they have rebooted Conan and Arnold is back in to movie making career mode (serving California but in a different way) why compare the two?

Yes, please do an original Conan the Barbarian commentary, that movie is pure film-making brilliance at its finest. The music, the minimalism, the Oliver Stone/Milius screenplay.
The remake is garbage though, honestly don't think its even worth the effort.
Hurray for a hypothetical October Sky commentary! I caught it on tv the other week and had forgotten how enjoyable it is.
I would also nominate The Right Stuff and Metropolis.
Just because I wanna be that guy, I suggest you do Troll 2.
Other random movie thoughts include for October "The Ring" (one of the view horror films I have actually seen), as well as Sahara.
I've really only made it halfway down the list, so not really making any new suggestions, honestly I think most that I might throw out there without some serious thought are already there.
Just throwing out there that if needed as an extra voice with hands on experience on The Muppets or Black Swan I'd be available. Figured it might be assumed, but just to clarify.
Greetings, my friend. You are interested in the unknown, the mysterious, the unexplainable. That is why you are here. Let us punish the guilty. Let us reward the innocent. Let us have a commentary for Plan 9 From Outer Space. God help us... in the future.
God help us... in the future.
Well, we are all interested in the future. For that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives.

And future events such as these will affect us in the future.
I've been saying it for three years. Predator.
So have I. But I'm the only DiF'er who feels strongly about doing it.
It's on the list, that can only be a good thing, right?
Right?
So have I. But I'm the only DiF'er who feels strongly about doing it.
Team up with Eddie Doty & Matt Vayda... that should be a quite a show!

Sounds like a plan. Skype?
Actually, is AVP on the list?
If I can ever drag my bones back to the west coast I would be happy to opine on the Predator series.
The AvP films are just... awful, such a waste. I'm sure the talent and interest to do AvP right exists out there, but with two bombs on their hands, I doubt Fox would be willing to pull the trigger on another.
Let's not forget the disastrous attempt at rebooting the franchise for kids...
I'm baffled that Teague and Dorkman can not appreciate Predator, it's like the best version of a Schwarzenegger action movie crossed with an awesome science fiction story. The music, the action direction, the VFX work.
You should force them to appreciate it like you did with Unforgiven (though that one took like 3 years, so we can expect Predator in like 2016).

...haven't seen it.
My only suggestion is that Dorkman needs to always be drunk. Drunk Dorkman is the best Dorkman.
Only slightly drunk though. A perfect balance must be maintained...

Ah yes, I believed that was marketed with this night light for kids:
I'd love to see some more Arnie films - Predator, Running Man and Total Recall being at the top of that list. And True Lies I guess, since it'll get you one step closer to doing the Complete Cameron Collection. Gotta catch em all etc.
And here I was thinking I was the only one who liked Sahara. I even ripped the audio track from my DVD and sometimes I put it on for my longer runs.
Yeah, I often listen to movies when I go out running... don't you?
Put me down for +1 for Sahara

What is.....run.....ning? I like Sahara too, it is underrated.
I'd also be down for a Predator commentary. Hell, maybe do a series of classic 80's action flicks. You've already done Die Hard, but Lethal Weapon, Predator, Total Recall, Robocop, First Blood...
*puts on pendant's hat* Total Recall was released in 1990
Total Recall is in many ways the balls out last blast of the 80s, a cartoony, ambitious, awesome hard-R rated action movie done pretty much entirely with practical effects (most of which hold up really well). A year later Terminator 2 would come out and change everything, and we'd be subjected to 5-10 years of awful CG effects work as people tried and failed to duplicate Cameron's success.
